Previously, on Survivor: Tracy, Sylvia, and Garrett were all headed off to tribal council. This vote seemed simple on the surface: Sylvia and Garrett were in a tight alliance along with Burton and Brooke on the other tribe, so it's a no brainer to vote Tracy out. It's not that simple, however. Tracy got in Sylvia's ear and explained to her that Garrett could beat either of them at fire-making easily due to his pregame preparation. If she kept him around and they lost the next challenge, Sylvia would be an easy fourth place. Although Sylvia thought she'd lose the challenge and the firemaking challenge either way, she thought she had a better chance against Tracy. Meanwhile, Garrett wanted to win the next challenge so he wouldn't even have to worry about making fire at the final 4. To win, he knew he had to keep the stronger competitor on his team to even compete with Burton and Brooke. And that would be Tracy, rather than his ally Sylvia. As if things weren't complicated enough, tonight is the last night you can play your hidden idol.
