Previously, on Survivor: At the Matsing camp, Kourtney, Natalie, and Tracy were all a tight three since they voted together to get rid of Brandon. Meanwhile, Clarence was their adversary since Brandon was his ally. He formed an alliance with RC, but those two were all alone since Monica and Chris both decided that it was in their best interest to align with Kourtney, Natalie, and Tracy for this vote since they suspected that Clarence or RC had an idol. Chris and Monica also had no trust for each other, so they wanted to play it safe by saddling up to the majority. Clarence wanted to get rid of Tracy since he saw her as the biggest strategic threat of that alliance. The alliance of 5 wanted RC out, but Chris thought that it was in his best interest to throw a vote for Monica, in case 3 idols were played so he wasn't screwed.
If anyone has a hidden immunity idol and you want to play it, now would be the time to do so.
