Rollercoaster ride at the 'rant yesterday

imageI had this 6 top, 3 of them come in and order drinks before the rest of the party arrives. they make it VERY clear "our three friends are coming and they DONT drink!" (foreshadowing) one of the first 3 ppl was the only one drinking and he went as far as to ask if i could put his rum and ginger ale in the glasses we use for sodas to not make it weird for the non-drinkers (everyone else has soft drinks besides this one guy)

flash forward to them ordering the guy wants like a cucumber mint lime drink so im like yea i can bring out like virgin mojitos for you. theyre all jazzed on the idea and 4 of them get it including all 3 of the nondrinkers

i ring it in an bring it to the table and they re-iterate again "just to be SURE theres no alcohol in this???" i say no and that i even tried them (i did and they tasted more like cucumber and soda than a regular mojito to me)

they try it and they all start freaking out because they taste like alcohol. one lady gets really exasperated and huffy and leaves the table. i say ill talk to the bartender and he tells me that he did in fact put bacardi in them. im in absolute awe am like about to throw up, the bartender is freaking out bc he thinks he just served 4 children alcohol, and the manager sees all this happen and jumps into action.

long story short the manager smoothed it over and this table was really overly nice. i thought they were being fake and lowkey hated me for serving them alcohol in a "i know it and they know" kind of way. it was a birthday and i got everyone to sing happy birthday super loud and like half the restaurant joined in just about as they told me ahead of time they wanted to embarass this guy when he was in the bathroom.

i wanted them to LEAVE so i just dropped the check after that (and in doing so xxxposed the guy who was drinking bacardi bc they wanted to split it 5 ways and the nondrinkers stared at the check for 5 minutes before i asked if they wanted it split)

they were a big enough party to auto-grat so i was just relieved when i saw they finally left. on top of the 20 percent on a 240 tab they tipped me an extra 30 dollars among the 4/5 tabs that tipped me extra along with a note about how i made their night

so yea for once the super overdramatic story has a happy ending i was just in absolute awe and am not entirely sure whether or not the party believed that the virgin mojitos were actually real mojitos or just had extra cucumber like the manager lied to them about

this turned into a mega rant that nobody will prolly read but yea

j2999 on one hand the reality tv love is just like #lovesdrama and then the introverted NOT a people person side of me is just like "well..." in the moment lmao
