Andrew about to be DETHRONED?

Sep 6, 2017 by splozojames50
Growing up in Miami whenever talk of hurricanes came up the iconic Hurricane Andrew was always the one that came up. In elementary/middle school teachers would give their stories about surviving Andrew and the DEVASTATION it caused whenever we'd be in the path of a new challenger. No storms since have challenged Andrew's legacy since then... until now

Looking at the national hurricane center website Irma's wind speeds are quite insane currently at 185 miles per hour. From what I have seen models seem to have it more likely to hit a more western region of Florida but Miami is definitely still in the cross hairs. If it hits directly its crazy/scary to think of the devastation. years from now kids in miami might grow up fearing Irma's legacy instead of Andrew's which is so crazy to think.

I think the craziest thing is even the storms that hit in in 2004/5 didnt hit miami DIRECTLY and the fact that this could be the first to do so in so long combined with the intensity of Andrew is so dramatic as it slowly gets clower
