Night 3 Audition Notes:

1. Sorry it took so long to post this, was busy so I'm probably going to do a double blog tonight since I just finished this episode, and after I post this blog I'm moving straight on to the next so I don't fall behind.
2. This episode was overall meh for me like I enjoy some of the singers but like it didn't really excite me plus I think the editing is really weird this season with the whole jump in the first artist, and then the to be continued at the end it was just messy editing. Also glad to see Maelyn back to help talk.
3. Mendeleyev actually has a voice that I can sing along with which I really enjoyed, I think he is a unique talent definitely and I think honestly he could go far depending on what John does with him. I think he has proper emotion and stuff I can't wait to see him push though.
4. Cali is honestly such a beautiful singer like I was totally lost in her voice, and I really enjoyed the song she was singing, I'm glad Blake is finally on the board with this artist but knowing him he might let her go for another basic country singer male because he has a soft spot for it.
5. I'm curious why Marybeth picked John for her coach as I think she would have gone better with Kelly since Kelly does have experience with coaching country singers and making them winners. I really do love her voice, it was hard ranking her and Cali together however Cali has more power than her and I think she could push her voice a little more but it's really good.
6. Kiara is such a sweetie, I really love the arrangement she did with the song that mostly everyone knows, and it was just nice and pretty to hear. I think there's a lot more stronger vocalists in this competition so that's why I didn't rank her high, however I think Gwen can really mold her into something powerful when it comes down to it.
7. Jake has what I call that soulful country sound, like he has that country voice, however he's very soulful with it, and he can really bring a country song together for me unlike some of the other country artists I've heard in this competition which is a feat but I don't know how far he'll make it.
8. Melinda has such a pretty voice but as Gwen said, her stage presence wasn't there and she was holding back due to nerves probably. Like I really like what she sang and her story is really interested I just need her to come out of her shell because I really got no feel for what type of performer she will be.
9. I feel Josie's voice maybe a little too young for this competition, like don't get me wrong she's a good singer I just think her voice needs to mature a little bit because I think it's a little too high for my taste. Like she's so young and I know once it matures it'll sound better but I don't know I just dislike how it sounds in this song.
10. Calvin was just not there for me I'm a little confused on why he got 3 chairs because in my opinion he didn't deserve any. I don't know I just felt his voice was a little to grainy and like I felt like he was trying to hard. Maybe Gwen can mold him into something I like though so we'll see.
11. The trend right now is more feature on the artist which I enjoy, I just don't like how messy the editing is being but I like getting to know all the artists on the team because it makes me connect with all of them in some way, event he ones that don't get any chairs.
