that mods shouldnt play Stars when its based on popularity. I dont have anything personally against them, in fact im very happy with the job theyve done and theyre actually decent people but lets not sit here pretending that it doesnt you give you an upper hand in popularity based games. And i am by no means discrediting Brandon's gameplay cuz he did slay it anyway, but he won that game the moment he was given that mod position.
They should be able to play anything except Stars. My 2 cents that nobody asked for.
edit: this isnt about brandon, this is about the platform moderators are given and may or may not use to gain publicity (whether they want to or not), which is easy to do if you do the job youre supposed to do and that is why i think its an advantage.
It's a controversial subject. Just because the mods are mods does not mean that they cannot participate in all the games the website has to offer.
I think the fact that pinzu was talked about the whole week as dominating the game literally helped him clinch the win. People kept making blogs about him, targeting him, etc... so it just made it easier for people to vote for him at the end regardless of the other finalist's game.
TL;DR: I think TG hyped up the fact that pinzu is a mod literally helped him win the game, but him being a mod did not inherently give him the win.
rivoux i am talking in general, not necessarily Brandon bc he was capable of winning games without the mod position. But i wont sit here acting like his already existing popularity wasnt bosted by the fact that his job as a mod has basically been validated by majority of the website.
You are entitled to an opinion, I just don't agree with it. The moderators are not paid to do this job, so why should they have to miss out on the fun of playing games. Polls are additionally anonymous, so people are not forced to vote one way or the other. There is nothing stopping people from making themselves stand out more in stars, it is a public game. Big personalities on the website like lemonface can easily join and win, and it's like the same thing.
thats good for you and your #1 friend, but you take a role position and i believe you should give up certain licences to promote the fairness of the game and Brandon isnt dumb either. And we have every right to question unethical decisions and this in particular is not my cup of tea. kentuckyy
I think this is why all mods should have a Tmod like account if anything, so everything mod related happens there and they can do how they please on their personal account.
I'm just not seeing how it's unethical. He doesn't have special powers to manipulate percentages or anything, everyone is entitled to a vote. You should always question unethical things and advocate for the right thing, I am just not seeing eye to eye with all mods not being allowed to play games. I don't think the game was any less fair because brandon is a moderator. sihz
that is not true! If anything i feel mods might have a more difficult time winning cause lets face it ppl on tengaged are psychos and they hate everyone who has authority but Brandon is a likeable person.
Totally agree. Brandon consistently uses his position to garner favors and popularity on this site. You dont see CheepCheep or whatever the fuck their name is flaunting it or joining every other game. Brandon will forever be like all his nasty little friends on this site.
Yeah, but you can kind of make this argument in regards to any other aspect of Tengaged that gives a popularity boost. Is it fair for competitive shopowners to play Stars? Is it fair for women to play Stars? Is it fair for vloggers to play Stars? Those are also things that give popularity boosts over the person that doesn't do those things. I wouldn't say being a mod is the holy grail of Tengaged popularity boosts. Brandon probably would've lost that final poll to someone like Kindred7. Galaxies came close.
but women arent in a position of technical responsability with the tg population, neither is the rest you mentioned above _aria. I'll give you that women do start off with an upper hand for a characteristic they didnt choose but shop owners and vloggers will play up to that strength because they chose to and dont owe TG anything opposite to what we expect from moderators. So in its essence, if they do their job correctly as they should, not only do they have a new platform to gain publicity from that no one else has (intentionally or unintentionally), but also if they do the job theyre supposed to do i believe they will get more saves than evicts, thats my whole point.
On the other hand, if someone doesnt wanna vlog or own a shop, its merely their fault that they didnt survive a poll when they have the chance to use different resources.
oh that would be truly sad. afaik, they're not being compensated in any way. Moderators across all platforms are widely known to take more abuse than they deserve. It's a mostly thankless job. I didn't vote for Brandon, don't know who the person even is beyond being a mod.
Honestly josh and Brandon would win without being a mod :o idk how popular cheepcheap is I remember him making people mad years ago so idk LOL but I mean I get it
I mean, it was openly discussed in the game chat multiple times. I like Brandon, and he played very well, but almost half the cast wouldn't lock him in because he's a mod
no, it wouldn't be the way, and I don't believe that it is as it stands. But I also don't see where you think this is going to end up? Do you think by denying the mods the services everyone else gets that they will stick around or continue their duties?
I disagree sihz after playing on this site for a large portion of my life, and then putting work back into it every day oftentimes when moderators are exhausted, and then not even being able to play or enjoy my favorite game on the website would kinda of be a giant slap in my face.
Even if moderators were compensated for their work, moderating this website especially with this team has been to improve a site we love. Then to be returned by not being able to play certain games would be discouraging from my perspective
