Makes me wonder do predatorial actions equal to being an actual PEDOPHILE?
I know it is a very touchy subject to many but I have mixed opinions about it. I dont by any means intend to downgrade the personal experiences some people here might or might not have had and I absolutely do not condone those actions in the slightest, I will always stand with the victim
My point, however, is does it take one time for you to be qualified as a pedophile? Because by definition
Definition of pedophilia
: sexual perversion in which children are the preferred sexual object
specifically : a psychiatric disorder in which an adult has sexual fantasies about or engages in sexual acts with a prepubescent child
Which brings me back to what type of behaviour the person in question has been accused of doing. Is this a repeated and systemic situation where more than 1 person has gone through? Or can ONE isolated case of flirting/sexting/explicit content pictures be labelled as "predatorial action" and not "pedophile" ?
And this question is brought to my attention because its something that needs to be taken care of LEGALLY and CLINICALLY, so throwing the word around loosely can have consequences. (Not saying any1 here has specifically done it)
I personally believe it also depends on the circumstances of touching/nude asking/flirting/dating etc. and how often because since its a disorder, they need to gather common signs in their behaviour that theyre indeed a pedophile.
I could be wrong but I wanna see people's opinions on this matter.
**DISCLAIMER** I DO NOT CONDONE ANY TYPE OF PREDATORIAL ACTION AND I FULLY STAND WITH THE VICTIMS. THIS BLOG IS MERELY INFORMATIVE
Im gonna tag darbe and admir cuz theyre both in the law and psychiatry field and are smart kings that can school us.

There is a difference between pedophiles and child sexual abusers. Pedophiles have children as object of their sexual imagination, while that's not always the case with child sexual abusers. One who shows intentional sexual desire for a child can be regarded as pedophile, until proven different, but it's usually very hard to say immediately. Pedophilic thoughts have to be reccurent and constant which will lead to such behavior to fulfill the definition.
from my understanding, majority of the blogs we've been reading seem like instances of child predation (i.e. abusing power to receive explicit content from minor) rather than pedophilia which is a much harder definition to satisfy. there have been instances of both here though.
