How fucking dumb the season title is for Australian Survivor...
For those of you who don't know:
It's called "champions vs contenders"
Sounds familiar, right? Its a speculated future survivor season and a common theme used for group games. Winners try to prove they deserved it while their closest competition try to prove that they just need another chance.
Well, that's NOT what it is.
It's basically just another stupid "occupation theme" like CBS does. Like this season, or like worlds apart.
"Champions" are people who are "champions" in their field. "Contenders" are just regular, average joes. So like, a former pro athlete could be a "champion," while someone working a 9-5 in a cubicle would be a "contender."
Explain to me why a tribe full of plumbers and shit should be called the "contenders," like how the fuck does that even make sense? What do they "contend" for in their day-to-day life?
Admittedly, it is tricky thinking of names for a theme like this. "Average Joes" could be deemed as too gender-specific, and "little people" is almost never used in this context.
But idk, calling a season "contenders and champions" and then basically sorting them based off whether or not they are losers in real life just seems kinda retarded to begin with.
