For this what if I really wanted to talk about the Marcellas not using the veto. However, i think there is a more interesting what if from just a week later
The very next week with Danielle as HOH, Lisa and Amy nominated, Jason and Danielle made a big mistake.
For whatever reason this final 4 didnt have a veto, which meant that Jason had the sole vote to evict and it was up to him and his number 1 ally Danielle as to who would leave.
Simply put, the big mistake they made was not evicting Lisa. Lisa was not only a stronger competitor than Amy, but she also was immensely more respected by the jury.
For this reason it was especially a mistake for Danielle. She had to know that the jury was going to be very bitter toward her as most of the jury preached loyalty, and being good mannered people.
Amy was the only person left that Danielle could beat. Even though keeping Amy doesnt guarentee Danielle a win, if Amy won the final HOH and decided to take Danielle, I can almost guarantee that Danielle wins.
Furthermore, I think if Danielle or Jason won the final HOH against Amy, Danielle is happy to lose to Jason because Jason was her boy.
So what if Jason had evicted Lisa? I really think that if Amy pulls out a win she takes Jason and he wins. If Danielle or Jason win the final HOH they take each other and Jason likely wins. At least in this case Danielle has a chance if she can convince Amy to take her.
I always thought that Marcellus got too much hate for that move. Yes, it was dumb to not use the veto on himself and leave, but also like you said it was dumb for them to vote him out over Lisa.
Plus, it was the first GOLDEN power of veto, as every other POV that season was the silver POV where you couldn't use it on yourself if you wanted to.
DBonee 100% it was so early on in the evolution of the POV that you can hardly blame Marcellas.
The other thing that people never bring up is the fact that he believed that he was safe and Amy was going anyways, so he didnt want someone else to have to be nominated
