I understand your frustration about being turned down from a gay club for 'looking too straight'. I am assuming this is the GAY Bar or Heaven club.

Is it fair? No. Is it right? No.

However, what we need to realise is that there are very few exclusively gay/lesbian places where people can go and be themselves, and feel free. The security staff have their reason for not letting in a group of 6ft 2 rugby lads for example, due to the risk of their clients feeling homophobia or hostility. The gay clubs want to keep it a relaxed and safe atmosphere for LGBT people, so they do need to be selective about who they let in.

I am sorry that you got refused, and I would be annoyed too. But the security and the staff understandably want to keep the club safe, and catered more towards LGBT people, which is why they have to be selective. In a gay club, LGBT people do not feel uncomfortable 'chatting up' or showing affection to someone of the same sex. In straight clubs, many people will still look at or mock two men kissing.

Nearly all clubs in London are catered towards straight people, so why shouldn't there be a club which is exclusively for LGBT people?  Like I said, I am not saying that it is right you were refused, but the security have their reasons.

I am sorry rdude_1 but I do not look really gay or straight, I am for sure not a fucking rugby lad. But it is absolutely DISGUSTING to turn people away from a club based of how they look or because they're in a couple and are clearly 'Straight'

If you think somewhere should be exclusively LGBT that is also something I disagree with, Imagine the uproar in the gay community if a club was exclusively straight, it has to work both ways!!!

Lovelife I am not saying it should be exclusively straight, but what is the point in having a gay club if you are going to have a bunch of heterosexuals?

Like I said, I am not saying it is 'right'. Just that I understand why they do it.
