Top 100 Canadian Songs of all time 100-97

Aug 23, 2019 by onemanarmy
Was suppose to due this for Canada Day but then my eldest cat died ( R.I.P Buddy) and I had said "fuck it" to everything that week but now it's 3am and I'm bored and can't sleep so here we go.

#100 - Brother Down by Sam Roberts

There is an addictive rhythm to this song that sets the vibe for the song’s world-weary subject matter. It’s impossible not to nod your head to it.

#99 - Birmingham by Amanda Marshall

The songs dark lyrics about escaping her abusive alcoholic spouse paired with her raspy vocals and jazzed up guitar melody makes for a solid track.

#98 - Drinking in L.A by Bran Van 3000

The alternative dance track about falling out of love with making movies in L.A and finding a passion for the music bizz made this one a unique gem, perhaps a bit too unique for the US thus it never received airplay in the states but was a big hit in here in Canada, as well as in the U.K and across Europe.

#97 - Leaving On a Jet Plane by Chantal Kreviazuk

It's a cover of an old Peter,Paul and Mary song and she recorded it for the Armageddon soundtrack but her raspy and soulful voice made it a instant favorite of mine.

What's your favorite songs from Canada? Will they make the list?

If Terrance and Phillip aren't on this, I've officially lost faith in humanity.
