On May 20, 2014, a whopping twenty-five of the most entertaining, most strategic, and/or downright craziest castaways from the first five seasons of Obscurity's Survivor gathered together for one insane season full of some of the most unique and complicated personalities to grace this hell on earth that we call Tengaged.com
Each of the five starting tribes of 5 had exactly 1 person each the first 5 seasons. Each tribe also had 1 former winner. The season was a mess from start to finish--full of clashing egos and personalities, many of whom knew each other both inside and outside the context of Obscurity's Survivor. A season in which many of the lesser-known players were voted out premerge, leaving the merge and endgame full of a mix of hardcore and insanely active castaways with a complex tangled web of relationships and perspectives. A twist that led to the demise of a former Final 2 in back-to-back special tribal councils. A fascinating metagame composed of competing factions with different motivations--some former winners wanted nothing more than a repeat win and some just wanted to cause as much chaos as possible while giving the win to the series' most celebrated character, Dinosauro27.
Just a few highlights for those who want to reminisce with me:
I happened to randomly think about this game earlier this week and I realized that it was right around the time of the 5th anniversary of the season premiere. At the risk of sounding like a complete sap over an internet reality competition, I have to say that hosting this game (and my series in general) is easily the highlight of my 8+ years on Tengaged. Many of these people have moved on from group games or even from the site in general, never to be heard from again, and somehow I'm still on this stupid website. Still playing group games, desperately trying to somehow relive the group game glory days but knowing that it'll never be as good as it was.

I feel that. The community just isn't what it used to be.
