Hello buckos and buckettes! I read a few books at a time so here is what I am currently reading:
- "Talking to Strangers: What We Should Know About the People We Don't Know" by Malcolm Gladwell | my first Gladwell book after listening to a few episodes of his podcast. I am about 1/4 of the way through and am enjoying a lot of the insights. I will likely read his 'David and Goliath' book next.
- "They Called Us Enemy" by George Takei | this is a beautifully draw and written account of Takei's time in Japanese internment camps as a child. I am over halfway through and enjoying it a lot.
- "Dear Senator: A Memoir by the Daughter of Strom Thurmond" by Essie Mae Washington-Williams & William Stadiem | This has been on my TBR for ages. It is a memoir by the estranged (and mixed) daughter of a segregationist senator who is a major historical figure in my state. She didn't know about her connection to him until later in his young adulthood. I just started this one.
