My Top 10 Linkin Park Songs (5-1)

Mar 13, 2019 by noobsmoke13
This is my top 10 Linkin Park songs that do NOT include music from any side projects (no MALL soundtrack, Fort Minor, Mike Shinoda, Dead by Sunrise, or Bennington's Stone Temple Pilots).

5. "One More Light" from One More Light

I know some people hate Linkin Park going pop but like... they did it so well. This title track is amazing and hauntingly beautiful and I have many memories of listening to this one and "Sharp Edges" in the car while driving around on a summer night.

4. "Crawling" from One More Light Live

I don't often listen to live albums but there are those are have some really interesting takes on older songs. This reworking of "Crawling" is amazing. The song still retains its original meaning even if the meaning is put across moreso through fragile vulnerability and weakness rather than anger.

3. "Hands Held High" from Minutes to Midnight

My top picks are certainly MtM heavy but the album is just that good. It is one of Linkin Park's best because the change in direction both sonically and topically work so damn well. "Hands Held High" is a very minimalist political track where Mike Shinoda shines. This may be his best performance on an LP record in my humble opinion.

2. "Faint" by Linkin Park

Meteora was an amazing album because it was the perfect balance between Hybrid Theory and the style of music the band was currently evolving into. This is a loud, angry, fun track that really showcases Chester's ability to scream. Mike absolutely kills the verses and, in Linkin Park style, they manage to balance elements of hard rock and hip hop wonderfully.

1. "The Messenger" from A Thousand Suns

Lots of fans abhor this album and I would agree it is n odd album in terms of structure and composition and this track ended the album and... wow. It is such a raw, heavy-hitting song/ It is basically a screaming acoustic ballad. This is some of Chester's best vocal work, hands down.
