I like this cast from what we can tell from previews and the usual Probst cast assessment.
THE DAVIDS
I am interested to see how this tribe performs because I have seen two claims throughout the Survivor community: Natalie wins or a David definitely wins because the theme basically roots for the Davids. Some say the Davids will flop but I hope not as I like a lot of their players on that tribe. Bi is someone I hope goes far and her strength will likely help their tribe a lot in challenges. Christian could go far and be another David Wright or John Cochran, but he needs to try to avoid being a Jacob Derwin. I can personally relate to Nick's whole food stamps and living in a trailer story and I hope he does well. Gabby gave me a good vibe from the preview.
THE GOLIATHS
The Goliath tribe could dominate or their cockiness could bite them. I am interested to see how Mike White plays the game, especially since he is probably the most recognizable member of the cast. He does not have the luxury of lying about who he is or what he does. I DON'T LIKE ALEC. Or at least I don't like the flirtatious male role he has been cast in. I do get why players like him exist though. I don't get the Natalie hype. She could be a great villain but she also gives me MvGX Paul vibes where she will dominate her tribe in the premerge but soon go out. This tribe has a lot of big personalities and that may hurt it socially.
Overall, the tribes are fairly balanced from what I can tell. The theme isn't amazing but it works. I hope this season is great and these people actually play the game.
Silver09 I guess I just find her abrasiveness in the first preview to be offputting. I am totally open to waiting till the premiere to form my final conclusions on most of these castaways.
