Since I’ll forget but May 12th will always be a special day for me. The day I graduated high school after a super long 4 years which included multiple suspensions, an expulsion and over 5 different schools which included a 5 month stay at a boarding school.
I’ll keep it short and sweet when I say this wasn’t easy. Growing up on the autism spectrum was difficult. Especially when everyone treated you like you’re a “mentally challenged” human being and you sometimes feel like no one will ever understand.
I had multiple people tell me I would never amount to anything in life and that I should’ve just signed out when I turned 18. I stuck with it and it paid off in the end.
Take it from someone who barely squeaked by that anything is possible. I am proof that you CAN do it. Never say never.
