Ranking Billboard #1 Hits (2010-) [#70-61]

omg i hope everybody hasnt forgotten about this series like sobs

-----

70. Halsey - Without Me [2019]
2 weeks at #1

omg this DEMON... its not bad but it wants to be needed me by rihanna so bad when halsey doesnt have the range. the cry me a river sample was clever though ill give her that but yet again bagdad by rosalia does a way better job of interpolating cry me a river

69. Post Malone - Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) [2018]
1 week at #1

xd 69!!!!! okay but for real i dont think anybody remembers this song cause it sounds like everything else he releases but i really like ty dolla $ign's verse on this. the chorus is catchy and thats really all i can ask for from a post malone song

68. Taylor Swift - Look What You Make Me Do [2017]
3 weeks at #1

this song is polarizing as fuck but i don't really have a strong opinion on it?!?! i think it was definitely an INTERESTING career move to release an 'edgy' album and then immediately backtrack for no reason. i really enjoyed this at first cause 2015-2017 was my peak swiftie era but it's aged a bit poorly. i still LIKE it though and the beat that kicks in around 1:30 is a slay

67. The Weeknd - Heartless (2019)
1 week at #1

this held the biggest drop from #1 until trollz came out and im not shocked since its like the least memorable #1 of the decade. its a generic trap song that was designed to be a hit on release and then quickly fizzle out when everybody gets over the hype. at least this has some musicality to it though unlike lots of trap hits and the fake out when you expect a drop in the 2nd chorus is pretty cool

66. OMI - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) [2015]
6 weeks at #1

this is definitely one of the funniest #1s in recent memory. i think it shares the same space as dance monkey in that it's a song that blows up in europe and seems destined to the fail in the US until it randomly becomes successful here when the rest of the world is over it. i feel like everybody has collectively blocked this out of their memory but everything about it is so bad its good so i cant hate it

65. Katy Perry - California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg) [2010]
6 weeks at #1

SOOOO i was never really enamored by this? i mean she's cute but most of the songs on teenage dream are better and the snoop dogg rap is hot garbage. i do respect how this did so well despite being a pretty big departure from one of the boys. the thing that bumps this up is that the chorus sounds excellent on a hot summer day like today

64. Post Malone & Swae Lee - Sunflower [2019]
1 week at #1

i feel like its impossible to discuss this song without talking about the CULTURAL RESET that was into the spiderverse. best superhero movie in ages like yes queen. the song fits very well in the context of the movie and i still like it on its own but it didnt have the same impact. im just biased against songs that dont have any breakout moments or an explosive chorus :3

63. Adele - Set Fire to the Rain [2012]
2 weeks at #1

This is really generic as far as Adele songs go and all her songs are generic anyway so sits. anyway the verses are meh and the chorus is good but its my least favorite song from 21 aside from that monstrosity rumour has it

62. Sia - Cheap Thrills (feat. Sean Paul) [2016]
4 weeks at #1
Blocked: Major Lazer - Cold Water (feat. MO & Justin Bieber)

The Sean Paul feature on this is one of most useless unnecessary features i've ever heard on a song which is what makes it so great. this is literally just shape of you female version but better since it's sung by a woman and the chorus slays

61. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz) [2013]
6 weeks at #1

I did used to stan this hard but I feel like it aged sorta terribly. Honestly the clean version outsold cause the censor sound effects are really funny *listens to the clean version i bought on itunes with my mom's credit card in 2013*. this song is partially to blame for white people colonizing thrift stores which is kinda insane like this song was THAT impactful. anyway macklemore is kinda bad on this but wanz the 50-year-old it technician slayed the chorus
