thanks for the support so far on this barbz i really appreciate it ^_^ i knew putting way too much effort into this ranking would pay off

112. Justin Bieber - Love Yourself [2016]
2 weeks at #1
Blocked: Twenty One Pilots - Stressed Out
this is just bieber doing his best ed sheeran impersonation. the main reason it was popular is because people thought it was about selena gomez (which it probably was) but still... leave the girl ALONE! this song is just a snooze
111. DJ Khaled - I'm The One (feat. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper & Lil Wayne) [2017]
1 week at #1
dj khaled just put the 4 men in music with the most momentum at the time on one track with no thought for how the song would actually sound. i feel like there was absolutely no quality control on this cause it was painfully basic. nobody's voice meshes that well, especially chance the rapper who was a very odd inclusion
110. Wiz Khalifa - See You Again (feat. Charlie Puth) [2015]
12 weeks at #1
Blocked: Fetty Wap - Trap Queen
this might be controversial but let me explain. i don't think this song is that bad but it felt very disingenious to release this and not donate the proceeds or have it be related to anything at all to HONOR paul walker. i'm sure all paul walker wanted when he died was for a man with no connection to him to rap some emotional lyrics over a generic beat in
"tribute" of him (but actually to drive ticket sales for fast 7)
109. Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved [2019]
3 weeks at #1
this is just a worse version of you're beautiful by james blunt (bop btw). it seems like the general public decided it was one again time for another generic heartbreak ballad sung by a british man. it has grown on me a bit but i still turn it off when it comes on the radio.
108. Eminem - Not Afraid [2010]
1 week at #1
I barely remember this and it seems to be for good reason. this type of "empowerment" song rings very hollow considering after this era was over he just went back to just writing music about hating women. regardless of how i feel about eminem personally this song is just generic and doesn't really leave an impression
107. Jonas Brothers - Sucker [2019]
1 week at #1
This was pretty underwhelming on release since I generally enjoy JB songs but this one didn't really HIT me. it only got worse as time went on as it was horribly overplayed and i still have trauma from it being played at every single college "accepted students day" i went to
106. Childish Gambino - This Is America [2018]
2 weeks at #1
I remember when this came out everybody was like "this is so woke guys omg he's speaking FACTS" and i kinda fell into that trap. looking back on it i realized the only good part of that whole ordeal was the music video. the video was good but the song is pretty lackluster. i felt like this is america was just used as a way for white people to feel woke by reposting it on their instagram stories and overstating its importance
105. Selena Gomez - Lose You to Love Me [2019]
1 week at #1
okay before the selena stans come... i do really like her but this is not what i want from her music at all. just flip around my love yourself commentary and you'll get my thoughts on this song but i do prefer her vocals to justin's
104. Justin Bieber - Sorry [2016]
3 weeks at #1
i can't get past how self-serving this song is. YES JUSTIN it is too late to say sorry get over it. it came out at the height of the tropical house "craze" and by the time this song hit big i was already over this sound so =/
103. Drake - God's Plan [2018]
11 weeks at #1
Blocked: Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line - Meant to Be (good riddance)
this is literally just drake on auto-pilot. it's not offensively bad but it just felt like a rehash of many songs he's released before. i get that he found a sound that works for him and i'm fine with that but it doesn't appeal to me - at least this style is better than whatever shit he's releasing with a fake british accent now
102. XXXTentacion - Sad! [2018]
1 week at #1
i think LOTS of people would put this last and for good reason. xxxtentacion was an abuser and an all around awful human being. i'm not gonna comment on his death but i will say that the day he passed was one of the funniest days ever on twitter LMFAO. but anyway i think this is one of his best songs that I've heard. it's still whiny like everything else he releases and nothing special but it's not offensively bad like a lot of his other music
101. THE SCOTTS - THE SCOTTS (feat. Travis Scott & Kid Cudi) [2020]
1 week at #1
2020 really has been the year of #1 debut FADS so far and this song is no different. it made no noise outside of the hip-hop community so I only listened to it for the first time to make this ranking. it's okay but it's a generic trap song. i can respect a GOOD generic trap song but this doesn't really leave much of an impression.
