Welcome to judging, chefs. This was breakfast sandwich week and I honestly both prepare and eat these very frequently. I'll reveal now nobody got my EXACT order on the nose, while some came close. It's time for some critiques.
Ebonygothchild666 - I love a good bagel sandwich and first this looks quite appealing. The rub for me is I'm a little stumped on the ingredients here. Like what is dis hunny? The two layers of white mush seems to connote a rather thick layer of mayo which is kinda unnecessary in a breakfast sandwich for me. I'll also say she's looking a little DENSE - like that bagel is tiny it's not holding all that.
rollingderp - So I'm in a weird spot with this one because you kinda ripped off Ebony's idea and like... girl she was literally the only one that posted before you, you coulda made sure you weren't doing a very similar thing. THAT being said, I honestly think you executed the idea a little better, it still looks really white and mushy but at least there's more SUBSTANCE to balance it out, you explained what the mush WAS (and it sounds good) and the bagel looks a lil less weak.
Queenisha - I'd be taking a HUGE risk letting you return to this competition... but that being said you kinda showed out this week. This pita sandwich is to die for, very nice egg to vegetable ratio and it looks like something we should sell at my job. Very impressive.
TheGoodMan - I can inspire the inspiration of this dish and this is a very tasty looking McGriddle. Given the trend alert to follow of analogous sausage sandwiches, I have to credit you for being first but a lot of the other girls kinda outshone. I do also appreciate your attention to sides.
HowLovely - This looks like a HEAVENLY and well-proportioned cross-section so I commend that aspect of the presentation. My one critique is ALL three of the breakfast meats, I usually limit myself to one if not two. Das a lot of meat. But I would still definitely eat this. BONUS points for the amazing choice in bread.
Splozojames50 - I'm also in a weird spot with this one because I think you out-preformed BOTH of the other bagel sandwich girls. This is really a PERFECTLY thick bagel for all the substance going on it and it looks so nicely browned. Well done chef.
Olympia - I want to like this sandwich a lot, I appreciate the authentic looking biscuits, they have amazing texture. My critique is that sausage patty is just SO egregiously oversized. This looks like it would be very difficult to eat, and it kinda NEEDED the egg that Jana's McGriddle had because I feel like this sandwich would be kinda dry.
Ribbons - Once again you showed STRONGLY this week. This sandwich looks like an absolute mess to eat but in the best way. I LOVE a croissant and that one on top looks beautifully appetizing. If anything it just looks like a BIG sandwich but maybe I'm misinterpreting the scale. That cheese looks JUST ooey and gooey enough not to err on looking excessive.
Yaxha - Another sausage egg and cheese girl, but you put an AMAZING creative spin on it with the hash brown as bread. I can DEFINITELY appreciate a nice golden hash brown. This looks greasy and delicious and amazingly presented, I can always respect the toothpick. The egg looks deliciously runny also. This was a HIT for me.
Analiese - this is hard for me to even look at because it's on WHEAT bread. Like WHAT? Who the fuck wants their sandwhich on WHEAT? I love a bacon egg and cheese but on that cardboard looking bread I'll pass. It also looks skimpy on the bacon.
Absol - Another sausage egg & cheese, this again is well-presented but I have to stop you with the english muffin, those have never been my style. Otherwise these are very cute but that was an unfortunate miss.
Darktyphoon23 - At first I was very drawn to this sandwich, but upon closer inspection I'm very disappointed by how COLD it looks. That cheese looks SOLID which makes the whole thing take on a different meaning for me, it almost looks like a lunch sandwich. This is another appealing cross-section but tbh, that second look might have killed the entire thing for me because I can see that dry ass cheese.
Artpop2 - At fist I thought this was rather egregiously simple, but it's growing on me - I honestly WOULD eat a sandwich that's just egg, bacon, and hot sauce. That sounds good as fuck. OH and it's on a ciabatta bun.
As you may be able to tell... this was a kinda tough weak to judge. I'm tired and a lot of these dishes were kinda neck and neck for me. But it's time for my VERDICT. The following ladies, please step forward....
