When any person chooses to use the Internet, and make public any information about themselves on any social media network. You should not be surprised if said information becomes available on different platforms. When you choose to post on Facebook your real name, occupation, and add people from the website on your Facebook, you should not be surprised if said information becomes available to the public. When you post a picture of your passport with your full legal name on your Instagram, link said Instagram to this website. You should not be surprised when said information is mentioned on any public forum.
Many of you have already placed personal information about yourselves on many different public forums. It should not come to a shock to you when said information is made public. Simpy put, a Tengaged user posting information YOU HAVE MADE PUBLIC on another public domain does not constitute doxxing. Nor will we punish for said content. Moderators should not and cannot play public information police, and try to remove information that you yourself have already made public on some other website.
The responsibility for anyone's personal information falls directly on you and you alone to keep private. Nor is reposting said information on the Intenet. Personally I work as an online public information gather for an investigation firm, and routinely collect information similar to information shared over the past couple of days. Nothing is illegal about said job nor does what I do constitute doxxing.
To clarify we will not allow said users to use such personal information as a means of threatening another user. IE (threatning to call one another works, threatening to out users to family members) However, we must examine those cases on a case by case basis.
Many users are adults, and if you do not want you personal information accessible to the website. I would suggest you make all personal information about yourselves private, and strongly consider who you share information with.
This does not mean we are not aware of the dangers this can cause in the long run. Even if you are responsible for being careless with your own information on the internet. For example AliBonico and Julian who posted their information on public accounts (public Instagram and public Reddit account), the action of bringing their information to the site isn’t bannable under the doxxing category. However, one could argue what happened to them COULD be punishable under the harassment umbrella. Which is why in situations like this we would have to review each situation to see if it constituted harassment.
Could not agree more. I’ve said shitty stuff about people in anger and people wrongly called it doxxing when that info had been shared to several people already and made available. People may be cunts and bad friends for revealing info, but that info was not being used to interfere with work or personal lives

Then we were told to permanently ban said users by Carlos. As we continue to evolve our stance on what constitutes a permant ban for said actions we can once again ask Carlos his stance on said users returning to his site. However, since he gave us explicit directions to ban those two users, he will have to be the on to give us the word to unban them

I've tried to ask you several times about this decision, so while you state that you can once again ask Carlos his stance...it does not seem like you have any real intention of doing so because understandably the easier thing is to just not since you have no stake in the matter and frankly don't care about me or Dallas. This was in reference to when Akeria was mailing him and everyone else about me being appointed and then un-appointed a mod. He again was posting my personal information at the time threatening me should I receive any power and take action against him.
On top of that, I have stated multiple times that its a little silly to ban BOTH parties involved in an incident where they were the only two affected. I don't think he even needed a permanent ban, I think the more sane stance would have been a temporary ban followed by warnings never to mention the other again. On top of that, we were both told we could never even make a new account. There are users on here who post pornography on a site full of minors and are allowed to return on a new account. I guess I shouldn't be surprised given Carlos's loose stance bordering supporting pedophilia in the past where he had people remove any indication of it from blogs.
I get that you don't want to put any effort into me being allowed here again, but either let me have a response or don't act like you'll continue to have conversations with Carlos about it. I know you'll probably delete this comment, but at least I'll know you saw it then.

how exactly would you punish people who harass other users if they can just take the content that was reposted on this website and then bully that person on a secondary platform like discord or skype? you can argue that they could take it up with discord or skype moderation but at the end of the day the toxic behavior starts here. this website is too volatile for the mod team to have a hands off approach to this issue. i feel like this take is ultimately just going to drive more people away from the site than it would to just ban the people who engage in "legal doxxing."

pureessence I feel like that was directed at me. I'm happy because I'm not getting banned. Her friends literally tried getting me permed for saying her OCCUPATION. I said she was a flight attendant if you seriously want to tell me you think that should be a permable offense then I just have to laugh. I was not the person who said her last name, all I said was her OCCUPATION and they tried getting me permed. We both know that should not be bannable. So I am happy with the decision at hand b/c it involved me saying someone's JOB TITLE. I do think doxxing to a point should be bannable.
pureessence I've had my parents messaged and police contacted on me, if anyone can speak on this it's definitely me. I think it's a case by case basis but when people try to get me permed for saying she's a flight attendant, mods are not going to do that LOL
