Another update for you all. Also from this point on, I will be adopting this lovely format Brandonpinzu used in his last blog. Brandon may have been shit at the old endurance comp, but he has an eye for creativity. Also congrats CheapCheep on finalizing your move into your new place! We will also be posting all Moderator blogs into the Tengaged Council which you can join here. https://tengaged.com/group/10086-tengaged-council-new
This should prevent you all from having to go through three different users blogs when trying to access information or updates. I for one will not be cleaning my blogs page ever.
Also please stick with me on this one. This blog will be rather hefty. I have faith that if some of you were capable of playing Starflakes for 15 plus minutes, you will be able to digest all this information.
Sorry if there are any typos.
TLDR requested by kindred7:
1. Images with slurs are punishable offenses.
2. Retard/retarded is now a bannable slur
3. Harassment other than clear cut cases, is still left to moderator discretion. We working on expanding Tengaged Council to include users we can discuss trickier cases with.
Images Containing Ban Worthy Content/Slurs
______________________________________________________________________________
I would like to start this off by reminding the public YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING POSTED ON YOUR TENGAGED ACCOUNT. Yelling aside, seriously you will always face repercussions when posting ban-worthy material on your account. Regardless, if the words are yours or a vile racist. Rollingderp has pointed out, that this varies from the rules of other popular social media sites. However, every single account on this website exists due to Randomize , and he can terminate your account, update the TOS, shut the site down, or remove any content at any time for any reason. Carlos has expressed before that slurs of any nature have no place on this website, and we intend to fully enforce that desire.
Therefore whenever you post any image with explicit content and/or derogatory statements and slurs you are at risk for punishment. We understand in some circumstances context is important in your reasoning for posting said content. However, when posting this content it is important to note that at BEST you will receive a warning such as Lemjam6Aquamarine and Rollingderp did. At WORST you will receive a ban in line with your prior offenses. In all cases, the blog in question will be removed.
Now for some pettiness, we must address it because I feel like it will be brought up. If you blur out the whole word, we will take no action. Why? because for all we know the person could have typed firetruck.

New Bannable Content

The word retarded will no longer be permitted on this site. This is something that was not punished under prior moderators, but now posting it will have the same repercussions for other slurs. This was first brought to our attention by Isandeh who inquired why the word was not bannable, for which in good faith no moderators on the panel had an appropriate and reasonable way to answer this question. The second user who brought it to my attention was Pampered81 who reported a user over Discord for saying this to her. I told her we are moderators of Tengaged, and normally will only will be using other platform proof when it comes to a user using the website to violate this TOS
1. You must not, in the use of Tengaged, violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws).
I did tell Pampered81, that the Moderator of the server it was said in should have removed the person from their server, or banned them temporarily. I do not know how Papmered81 took this statement. Personally, I found it lackluster. How in good faith can I think someone they should be removed from a Discord server for using that word, but permit the word on the site I have been asked to help moderate. The word will no longer be allowed, and posting it will result in a ban.
We also took into consideration a blog from Paige54 and the comments on that blog. We discussed it last night over call when we were all free, and came to the consensus it also has no place on the website. I would like to personally apologize if our delay on this issue has resulted in any users being called this slur in a derogatory manner. We are working to streamline rules as fast as possible. BrandonpinzuCheapCheep and I like to be in full agreement on any new rules added or enforced, and sometimes may be a little slow moving coordinating our personal lives.

Harassment
______________________________________________________________________________
This issue is the trickiest on the site to deal with. Harassment is always nuanced except in clear cases when it is very obvious a user has crossed a clear line. The problem is that harassment in many cases revolves around the following
1. The nature the comments were said in.
2. The timeframe in which the comments were said in. (IE a prolonged period of time)
3. How the comments are being transmitted to the user who is reporting the harassment.
4. The circumstances the comments were made (IE Game Comments, Political Arguments, Blogs)
5. Personal relationship between the users exchanging the comments.
This means in many cases it will be up to the discretion of the moderators. I know many of you wanted to have a clear concrete harassment rules you could follow. The complexity of harassment cases makes that hard for us to do so at this point.
We also understand that it is fully possible for the three moderators to err in decision making. We are discussing plans to add trusted users to confer with on situations of harassment or rule breaking that is grey/tricky. We have no information or structure of how this system will work currently, and which users will be included, and how they will be picked. It is at the forefront of our discussions and priority list, and we are open to any suggestions how you all think this system will run. Personally, I have a strong desire to move fast on this issue and adding reputable users who can speak a variety of different languages. As English is not every users first language on our website, and their voices should be heard with good clarity as well.
Omg... thank you, that’s so great koolness234 :’) (i did read it all + it’s explained really clearly so thank you to you, brandonpinzu and cheapcheep for your hard work <3)
The only cases in which it will be is when someone is violating this rule.
You must not, in the use of Tengaged, violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws). (IE pedophilia, wildboy12, sexual predators). Skype/Discord proof is only viable for removing a person from this website for dangerous criminal activities, they may be using Tengaged to perform
I guess it depends on the context. If you link to the reddit page more generally, then no. But if you were to link to a specific post that uses the word, you're getting closer to having an issue. noah_kondon
