It took Dua Lipa to get you to condemn the usage of the n word. When some of you are friends with users who use it repetitively. Along with wishing death upon each other, homophobic remarks. I can assure you 1 week from now you will all go back to not giving a flying fuck when someone calls another user an n words and tells them they need to die. If you are going to get up in arms about racial slur usage can you all at least manage to be consistent and not pick and choose when to condemn bigotry
*edit since some people do not get this concept. I am not defending Dua Lipa or what she said.
Why r u mad about ppl being mad about a white person saying the n word? arent u black? and ur saying its bad to be mad at it
Ur embarassing lol may as well bleach ur skin and dye ur hair blonde coz clearly u dont like being black if ur not as mad as everyone else is at it!
2388 didnt say I wasnt Just said why is everyone condemning her but turning a blind eye to all the racism and hatred here. Apparently you forgot how to read today again
2388 I said why are people getting up in arms about her but not all the other hatred on the site. Why are people mad at her but turn a blind eye when their friends issue death threats and say racist remarks. Never once did I say dont be mad at Dua Lipa xoxo. I said if you are going to be mad at Dua Lipa then be mad at users on here who consistently say those words and use those remarks with little repercussion
2388 Yes she should not have said it and the people on this site should not say it but you all dont tend to care when your friends use this language so I am asking why are you condemning her but turning a blind eye to when it is used elsewhere. Do I have to break this down to you again or has your brain finally wrapped around it after the 3rd explanation
None of my friends say the n word or I wouldnt be friends w them and would cut them off so im not included in that! But I do see what u mean about ppl here having racist friends
thats all u needed to say, coz it looked as tho u were ok w what she said
2388 no you assumed that was what I said while attacking me saying I was ashamed of my race. You could have said hey do you think Dua Lipa should have said that instead of
2388 you instead of asking your question just went on attacking me personally saying I was ashamed of my race either trying to get a rise out of me or trying to prove a false point based on your illogical assumption
Also when ur black and it looks somewhat as though ur defending a white person saying the n word, OBVIOUSLY im gonna think ur ashamed of ur race
can u see what I mean?
2388 I was not defending a white person you thought I was an attacked me on my race for being ashamed of my heritage which I am not, because you jumped to a juvenile conclusion when if you read what I said without any bias it was clear that I do not like the usage of the n word considering I called it bigotry. Coupled with the fact I never once defended Dua Lipa just said if you all care so much about her using it then why when your friends use it you turn a blind eye. There was no defense of her in there. Not my fault your assumption lead you to say something unwarranted and illogical.
i like to rap along to a lot of verses and many of them obvi has the n word. Is that ok or nah? also what do you think about the argument of just using it with your close group of friends if all of them are ok with it, acknowledging to only use it in such setting?
akora Personally I do not like it used in rap songs or in friend groups. However, I get that when it is used that way it is not meant to belittle a race and is a slang word. I just think it shows others that it is acceptable to use that word. However, I do not think people who use it the way you just described are bigots or racist. I took a Black Politics class and almost every African American student in the class all had different opinions. So it can be a touchy subject. However, I think anyone that promotes someone who uses in a way to attack someone on their race is a despicable human being
akora Go to the hood and sing along to rap songs with the N word very loudly and tell me what happens. That'll answer ur question on whether it's ok or not :)
koolness234danger so whenever someone says the N word because he/she is singing along to a rap song, do y'all tell them to censor themselves or find some sort of replacement when it gets to that word in the song? Just curious.
Koolness234 literally your original point could make sense to a 10 year old, idk why you've been forced to clarify lmao. But yes, selective criticism and double standards isn't new here.
I also don't like the fact that non-black fans are 'forgiving' the artists when its not their place to. This always happens with homophobic remarks from celebs too where straight fans forgive on behalf of the group on the receiving end. The only people entitled to forgive Dua is the black community
Yeah the hypocrisy is unreal. She didn't even say the full word but it was intended. Regardless, so many people on this site have said disgusting things about and to each other, with complete intention of hurting someone or invoking a reaction. Vile.
