"Religious Freedom"

Jul 5, 2014 by kebin65
Sorry for being political, but stuff like this pisses me off.

So apparently 14 religious leaders, including Rick Warren, are using the "religious freedom" Hobby Lobby Supreme Court ruling to push for discrimination against LGBTQ people. They sent a letter to President Obama basically requesting that religious organizations (that receive federal tax dollars) should have the right to discriminate against employees simply for sexual orientation or gender identity on the grounds of religious freedom. This could be as simple as a religious school firing a groundskeeper for being gay.

To see the letter go here: http://www.advocate.com/politics/2014/07/03/after-hobby-lobby-faith-leaders-want-right-lgbt-discrimination

AND if you are a religious person that is against this type of discrimination (because I know not all of you are idiotic bigots), you can sign a petition by Faithful Christian, an organization for Christians who are against the use of faith to discriminate, HERE: http://act.faithfulamerica.org/sign/executiveorder/?akid=386.183902.NNTQhA&rd=1&t=1

I mean I guess but I mean you also have to see it from there side. Some people are just hardcore Christians and the bible days gay is wrong or whatever idk so I guess in a way they are just following god but like I said god is made up so it don't matter

jojo7784 If the Bible supported discrimination on the basis race (which it has been used as a grounds to do so in the past; it's been used to argue that mixed-race marriages are wrong and that segregation and slavery are ok) then that would be a no-brainer problem in this day and age. This measure attempts to combine church and state and attempts to discriminate a group of people on the basis of religion. That is simply wrong.
