I went to my aunts funeral in Tennessee and during t he funeral procession everyone pulled to the side of the road and got out of their cars and stood there with their hands on the heart being a city boy I wasn't used to seeing anything like that southern hospitality and I though it was amazing
We do a mom's weekend auction every year at my fraternity where guys bring their moms and we have, well, an auction. Everyone wanted this USA basket full of cool things and there was an all out bidding war. This one mom kept bidding and someone was like damn she isn't giving up. Then she said that her son (one of my brothers) would be serving for seven years once he graduates (he's part of our ROTC program). Then a bunch of our moms started chatting and before the auction ended they said they all wanted to throw in money to make sure she won it. His mom cried, a bunch of my brothers and their moms teared up, and my brother (the son) had to leave the room because he was about to cry and he was the auctioneer.
It was so amazing.
That or hearing about my friend telling his girlfriend's mom that our team for Greek Week raised over $20,000 for the Special Olympics and how she was so happy. Then they called her later that night letting her know that as a community, we raised over $180,000 and she just started balling.
