Just rewatched both seasons of the glee project

And literally I loved this show but holy shit the outcomes fucking sucked in so many ways. Not saying Samuel or Blake didn't deserve to win (Damian didn't), but like so many people were robbed in such BS ways of even being in the finale.

Like in season 1, Marissa had never been in the bottom 3, wins 2 homework challenges in a row, and is seemingly sent into the bottom 3 because she hadn't been and I honestly think the mentors thought there was no way Ryan Murphy would send her home and he DID. And there had already been people who had been in the bottom three, 3 or 4 times.

And then Damian getting eliminated at final 6, but being "saved" because of Cameron quitting and ultimately being named one of the winners is SUCH a slap in the face to Alex, Lindsay, and Hannah. Damian should have just been eliminated too. Obviously the other 3 who didn't end up winning deserved it more because they hadn't been eliminated up until that point.

And then season 2 with Shanna getting Marissa'd, and half the writers and almost the entire cast of Glee telling Ryan Murphy they thought Ali should win in the finale only for him to pick fucking Blake Jenner as the winner who was one dimensional as hell until the last 2 weeks. Not that he isn't talented but his character on Glee was also boring as hell. He literally chose the straight white male to win over the Turkish Muslim girl and the girl in the wheelchair on a show about being an underdog and overcoming obstacles sadvhdfjheur.

I just feel like the show was pushed heavily by the network to make certain decisions which is sad because I would have much preferred to see other people be on Glee aside from the 3 winners we got (1 of which literally had no business winning as he was ELIMINATED).

The messiest competition show I can actually think of but I absolutely loved the format.
