I Love Money 4 - Why Marcia Lost

Oct 8, 2010 by jamesbuc
imageAnother round of I Love Money and another blindside moment in the vault. Obviously theres some pretty easy reasons to name WHY Marcia wound up as the sixth person to leave the show but is it really that simple? Lets take a look at why Marcia lost using the usual 5 rule format.

Rule 1: Have Allies, Keep Allies
Marcia did a good job here, she was placed in the all girls alliance on account of her being a girl and on account of her not trying to sleep with everyone (Brittanya). At best however she was a fringe member of the alliance rather than a key member so when push came to shove, she was one of the ones who would have likely been booted first.

Rule 2: Keep Control of Your Emotions
Oh dear... For anyone out of the know, Marcia was also in the cancelled 'I Love Money 3' and was sent home because of her arguments with people, she also apparently smacked somebody in the face with her cheque before leaving.
In I Love Money, while she wasnt booted first, her temper showed up time and time again, first against Mamacita, then against Britannya.
Then when she was backstabbed, all hell broke loose, she essentially went out on a major offensive against Corn-Fed and Mindy that may have actually helped had she not gone and started taunting Chi Chi about his father, that doubled with that the current paymasters whole reason of being there was his dead father... it was a BIG mistake.

Rule 3: Strategize
Marcia did have some strategy, she had her bases covered alliance wise but then got complacent. She didnt keep a track of things, left team talks early and basically assumed she was safe which made it all too easy to backstab.

Rule 4: Dont Over-Strategize
Marcia (and Fiesty too) failed here. While it was all okay calling Corn-Fed untrustworthy, it slipped several times that there was at least the possibility of an all girls alliance in the house. With that infomation why would Brooklyn take out somebody who actively went against the alliance with the numbers?

On another note was Fiesty, Marcia needed to keep her friend more in check because Fiesty telling Brooklyn that Marcia was strong/Corn Fed weak. NOT HELPFUL.

Rule 5: Dont Trust Anyone 100%
Marcia put all her faith in her all female alliance which meant once the first backstab happened, she had nowhere to look to for help.

In a nutshell: Marcia lost for two (maybe three) reasons. Firstly was her attempts to piss off her team accidentally also pissing off the paymaster, secondly was her attempt to paint Corn Fed as untrustworthy but also showing the possibility of an all female alliance. Finally it was that Marcia had no extra links in the house, once the backstab happened, she was toast.
