Greetings, my lovely audience! As you are already aware, welcome back to Rocky's Music Taste. This is a show where we explore different musical themes and genres every episode. As a refresher, the theme for episode 2 was "Songs from 2022-2023 only".
Well, I have to say, this episode is going to be a doozy. I don't know about you, but no one likes to be taken out of their comfort zone, and that's exactly what we're going to do throughout this season. But that's the whole point of this show. We want to push you out of your comfort zone and introduce you to new sounds and genres that you might not have explored before. Each episode, we'll up the difficulty level because we're looking for one thing: the champion of Rocky's Music Taste! Anyways let’s get to the results this episode:
rory17 - Hot In It by Tiësto & Charli XCX: I’ve got to say that you’ve been bringing the fun and serving vibes since you’ve started! From the pulsating beat to Charli XCX's fierce vocals, everything about this song screams energy and excitement. I would 100% listen to this song a couple of times. Well done!

I rest my case!!! Ultimate slay because I love Libianca and when I first came across this song I was my whole essence was captured! I probably make no sense right now but thank you for showcasing her this episode!
reallyreally - Nonsense by Sabrina Carpenter: Honestly, judging this episode is probably going to be the hardest thing ever and it shouldn’t be … we’re only on the 2nd one. I would have to say though that I don’t particularly love this song, I like it but compared to others it is falling short quite a bit unfortunately we shall see how this night goes!
Moviemusicguy123 - GODDESS by PVRIS: Omg PVRIS is in the house! Another band that I absolutely love and was thankful to have come across. Mhmm this song, I’m loving the setting and the whole eery production. I don’t love love the song like it’s not that much of a standout. I think you’re getting progressively getting there and it is only episode 2 so there’s still room for improvement.
MrRobzilla - Nervous by John Legend: I love me some good ol’ John Legend! First time listening to this song and wow vocals come throughhhh, you’re giving me ideas for upcoming episodes. The lyrics are so raw and honest, and the melody is so soulful and uplifting. His voice is simply angelic on this track, and the instrumentation perfectly complements the mood of the song. *claps*
tswiftlover13 - Ice Cream Man by Raye: *cries* Ohhh you literally came for my emotions today!!! The lyrics are so raw and heartfelt, and the melody is hauntingly beautiful. I love how she expresses her vulnerability and yearning in the lyrics, and her performance is filled with it! Wow just complete wow, this is going to be hard episode to rank tbh. *claps*
Tester - Angels Fly by Louis Tomlinson: Mmhmmmmm! You had a song change and I was like ooppp- why? I hate to do this to you but I preferred the other one, but hey it’s your choice right and you wanna showcase yourself too! I wouldn’t say that I don’t like this song, but it’s giving me middle-lower pack ish sadly.
Ajathekween - Immature by FLO: Come through with the choreography and vocals!! Let’s forget those for a second and the instrumentals are to die for, like I find myself often zoning out during the lyrics and digging deep into the song’s core meh! I’d say good effort this episode!
boozes - In the Stars by Benson Boone: Okay like WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN THIS EPISODE! Two-way tie? Three-way tie? Like you all did not come to play and the way the selections have been matching my taste is super insane! But hey we’ve all got that soft and ROCKY side. Honestly great choice for this song and I see why you’re particularly fond of it.

Hello and welcome back to Rocky's Music Taste. I'm your host, Rocky duh, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the last episode. The music selections were literally SLAY!!! I’m excited to see what else our players have in store for us in the upcoming episodes.
Our previous players brought their A-game, and I have no doubt that they set the bar high for our future players. It's one of the things that makes this show so special. To our viewers out there, get ready for another exciting episode. So, without further ado, let's kick off this next episode of Rocky's Music Taste!
In the first episode, the theme was Alt-Pop Queens and now I’d like to switch up things totally, in my opinion, for the second episode! Although, we love our throwbacks and well known songs but I want to see what else you could bring to the table. Today, we're getting a sneak peek into the future with our theme of "Songs from 2022-2023.” You might want to showcase your favourite artist’s new work or MAYBEEEE … someone we’ve never heard of before. Keep in mind the comments and how the rankings went last episode to guide yourself to victory HURRAH!!!

AAHH! Welcome to the very first episode to Rocky’s Music Taste and if you can’t tell I’m excited to be giving some rankings tonight! I was particularly please to see the great selection of posts that players have submitted. Although the theme was Alt-Pop Queens I also got to see your definition and in a way taste of your interpretation of this genre. I won’t be rambling on so let’s start with some comments:
boozes - Lose You To Love Me by Selena Gomez: I think there was a misconception that just because the riddle’s answer was Selena Gomez, a few peeps assumed that I was obsessed with her but that’s false tbh. I’d like to mention that I like some of her music but the riddle was meant to be easy since it’s the first episode so I went with popular knowledge. Anyways, this is actually one of my favourite songs of hers and it has been on my playlist for a while like the emotion and power behind her lyrics it’s so alluring that I love it. Don’t let me start with the chorus, great submission!
rory17 - Let Them Know by Mabel: I had to give this song another listen because I forgot what it sounded like tbh. Upon the second listen, it grew on me and the vibe is so attractive “Body SHAPED LIKE COCA-COLA.” You’re not off to a bad start at all and Mabel is now in my radar when I’m looking for some bad bitch motivation!
tswiftlover13 - Tears of Gold by Faouzia: AHHH well you already know I love Faouzia tbh! This song is still gold to my ears and forever will be timeless. The song has a hauntingly beautiful melody and the lyrics are both poignant and empowering. Faouzia's vocals are stunning, and she delivers the lyrics with such emotion and intensity that it gives me chills every time I listen to it. The lyrics, my goodness, it resonates with me deeply and to my core! *claps*
Moviemusicguy123 - My Mind and Me by Selena Gomez: I’d say compared to the other Selena songs this is my least favourite unfortunately. It doesn’t stand out too much to me in comparison to the others, or maybe cause this is the first time I’m listening to it. I find the song to be a bit repetitive and lacking in dynamics. The melody doesn't vary much throughout the song, and while this can work for some songs, I feel like it makes "My Mind and Me" drag a bit.
MrRobzilla - Here's to Never Growing Up by Avril Lavigne: Avrilll my low-key lover, Wow, this song is just pure energy and excitement! The upbeat rhythm and Avril's powerful vocals just make you want to jump up and dance along. This song is definitely going to be on repeat for a while. *giggles*
Jameslu - Explosions by Ellie Goulding: Woow I’m familiar with Ellie but I’ve never heard this song either! I am super intrigued and you slayed with this song choice cause VOCALS! The haunting melody and Ellie's ethereal vocals immediately draw you in and create a sense of MYSTERY! I can't believe I've never heard this song before, but I'm so glad I stumbled upon it now. *claps*
Tester - Team by Lorde: No NONO, Queen of Alt-Pop like I’ve been obsessed with you but I don’t really make it known, well until now! This is an absolute masterpiece and literally the empowerment is just overwhelmingly taking me right now. This is one of those songs that you unknowingly forget about but then geek out when you find it once more. Knocked it out of the park BOOM!
LooseyLaduca - Coochie by Shygirl: Ouch, well I could not get into this at all and I’d say this is far from my music taste. That being said, it is important to recognize that different individuals have different preferences and opinions, and what one person may view as a negative aspect of a song, another person may appreciate as an artistic choice. Good luck on this round!
Ajathekween - Pacify Her by Melanie Martinez: I feel like this is on the same level like the Coochie Song, I hear the alternative but I don’t feel intrigued by it. It is different, but the overall production didn’t do it for me. Effort is appreciated tho!
reallyreally - Quicksand by Hatchie: My goodness, like the more I gave 1st, 2nd and 3rd listens to decide the rankings it was SO HARD! After these comments I’ve got to check these rankings again to make sure I’m making the right decision. I’ll show the rankings but the top 5 slayed my music taste and I believe this would provide more hints! Never heard of Quicksand but as you all can tell I’m obsessed with this too like this is a song I’d listen to over and over again. BOOM! *claps*
PenguinOwen126 - The Heart Wants What It Wants by Selena Gomez: The 3rd Selena song, you all didn’t come to play eh cause I’d say I like this song but Lose You to Love Me is hard to top tbh by comparing you all 3. Surprisingly no one botched her song this round so *claps*
