there was an incident at my school recently where a guy brutally attacked a girl. he held her hostage in an apartment for 4 hours and in that time, he hit her with blunt objects, sprayed paint in her eyes, threatened to kill her if she went to the police, and strangled her until she went unconscious. a while after that, he threw her down the stairs and she was finally able to get away
he's been charged with 2nd degree kidnapping, 2nd degree assault, strangulation, terroristic threatening, 3rd degree assault, and criminal mischief
he was in a fraternity and apparently he's been known to be aggressive and this is not the first assault by someone in that frat
i'm so sad for this poor girl who was traumatized so horrifically. she'll never be the same after this and not enough people take violence against women as seriously as they should :(
my school has also handled the situation so poorly. this incident happened on thursday or friday i believe and it hit the news on monday. rather than posting a statement, my school's official instagram posted a pic about how pretty campus is.. like what the fuck

I feel so bad for her this is horrible :( It's sad because the police refuse to side with us ... until something has " happened " and do nothing about threats until it's too late. Angers me and other people.
That’s awful. I really hope she is able to fully recover from this but how could you? It’s a shame how badly colleges and police handle stuff like this.
