People are misunderstood by stereotypes established by society to try and feel as part as a group. The group situation is strengthened by joint interests , but because we will be intimidated or paranoid about other "groups" , that's when we begin to see formal point out someone's faults , to make them fell like a target or self conscience to have something to talk to by pointing out two sided arguments.
