Anyways I do not have Aids, but I am HIV positive (undetectable).
For those of you who may remember, I blogged about this in I think 2013 to share my story, and raise awareness, encouraging people to get check ups.
Obviously there has been a lot of negativity and people use it as an insult in games if I evict them or people make snide comments about me which ultimately I do not care about. Tbh It says a lot more about you guys than it does about me.
So apparently, people from this game were on a skype call discussing my status last night? https://tengaged.com/game/186549 .What more do you guys want? I blogged about it years ago, What business is it of yours? I was out last night so I am still trying to find out what went on, but do you really have that little to be talking about? Are your own lives that boring?
Anyways, I decided to blog about this to inform you all again, because its been 6 years and it seems that people on here are fond of bitching about it or bringing it up constantly. I decided to make this blog to try and do something positive about it (excuse the pun). So let me educate you.
AIDS and HIV are not the same thing. If your CD4 count (white blood cells go below 200 it is defined as AIDS). Luckily because I have regular check ups I caught mine early, and it did not develop into AIDS. If I didnt catch it when I did, I would have probably got pneumonia after about 6 months been hospitalised and ended up fighting for my life because my system would have been to weak to fight it. So it really is no laughing matter.
I was in the MR gay Ireland competiton in 2011, and ended up coming out about it, because the charity we were doing it for was for a HIV project, so people in real life know about it and I live openly with it. My friend even recently got diagnosed with it, and I had to go through it all again with him. It can be a very lonely place, and people assume things about you without educating themselves.
Some people on here may know about me, newer users may not, but anyone who does not want to take the time to get to know me or be friends with me because of it, was never a friend to me in the first place.
For those of you wondering, I take 1 tablet every day and that keeps me healthy. I am in a relationship of nearly 2 years, and I am very happy, and it does not effect my day to day life even slightly. I get check ups and blood taken twice a year to make sure everything is normal. The medication is hard on my liver, so if I drink a lot, my liver is functioning at a higher rate than it normally should be but apart from that, I am healthy, happy and love my life. I am proud of who I am, where I come from, and the strength that I have. Your words dont hurt or bother me because I have heard them all before, and sometimes you hear it so many times you build up a resolve against it.
If any of you have questions about it you could just mail me instead of blogging, or bitching about me on call when half of you dont even know nothing about me. My status does not define me as a person.
I'm sorry to hear about your struggle! It's an uphill battle, but the public is slowly getting educated about HIV/AIDS. I must confess I've learned more about in the past few years that have dispelled previous myths I was told. It's not something that the average person is ever really told about, but slowly awareness of it is changing. :)
Being hiv positive is nothing to be ashamed of. And it makes you no less of a person. Proud of you for finding the strength to fight your struggles with optimism.
I know you don't care about these comments and it's pretty nice you blogged about this. It shows how strong you are bro.
That kind of people should be banned of here, since the first rule in tengaged should be respect to other humans.
I admire you <3
Damo1990 it is very rude that 2388 was so HIV negative about your HIV Positive status, I just hope you have ALOT OF MONEY cause Magic Johnson has AIDS for the last 30 years but he still alive
damo1990
Never let anyone bring you down you are a great guy and I'm honored to be your friend regardless. There are a lot of ignorant people on here and you know how those people tend to get but stay strong and be happy brother!
The way you’ve chosen to reply is so classy and I felt like I learned something new about it too particularly in how you differentiated the two. Continue owning your truth and living yourself, some people have too much free time.
P.s I am very intrigued to see how you looked for this Mr Gay Ireland competition lmao, it’s intriguing.
Also yall can quit coming for me OKAY??? I didnt use it as a fucking insult
I was asking a fucking question coz I couldnt tell if the ppl I was on call with was trolling or not!

❤❤❤
Hiv is a disease it's not who you are
That don't define if you are good or bad
Don't let other define it for u
Glad u opened up about it that's the beat thing to do
❤❤❤
I've always had respect for you but like yes legend
You coulda gone way off and snagged her cheap wig but you used it as a way to educate people on HIV/AIDS and told your story and I love that. Very well said :) glad you're healthy ❤️
2388 this is disgusting you really need to shut the fuck up and let people live their lives. You talk about people coming off as remotely racist but making someone for an illness they have. You're fucking better than that.. Well maybe your not
Take notes 2388.
