I don't know anything of what Jojo7784 did years ago, and I agree, it sounds terrible. I am not at all excusing that, and I hope whatever he did he has since apologized and matured.
However, if people can't see that the people trying to "cancel" Joey for this were literally friends with him last week, and you are not exactly the kings of moral highground yourselves, then I don't know what I can say.
If someone does something wrong, it's wrong period. You can hate them for it forever, or you can move on and forgive them. But you can't sit on it and be perfectly fine with what happened, and then when they piss you off, whip it out against them.
Nowhere in there did I state that anyone should be outed, and you KNOW I don't think that. What I DID say was the people speaking on this issue (maybe not Austin, but the other two) had no problem with Joey before. You didn't just find this out, you have probably always known and even knew him when it happened, and you're talking about it now because...?
You can forgive a person and move on, but how the fuck are you going to do the opposite, and be okay with something, or at least not actively speaking against it, but then when that person pisses you off, you whip it out to hold against them?
cheritaisdelicious As the host of the game when this happened and a member of CYA, I can say no one was fine with it when it happened and Joey literally got kicked from the chat for quite some time. People have since forgiven him though
turney1805 oh I'm sure people were at the time. But like I was trying to say, no one seemed to be upset about this last week or whatever. It's brought up again because they are annoyed at him, and I feel like if you forgive someone for something, you should stay forgiving them unless something new comes to light such as the behavior occurred again or something. Not "oh I'm annoyed at you, so I am going to bring this thing up again and try to make you look bad in public"
