1. What were your thoughts on Kevin venturing on his own and was that always an initial plan?
Going into this season I knew Kevin was one of the characters I needed to work on. Of the season 1 crew he was the returning character with the least popularity. Most of this I think stemmed from him being sort of in the corner as Stacey’s sidekick. With this season I wanted to explore more of who is Kevin and what he is capable of bringing to the table. If he moved on to Revco he would have more than likely be lost amongst the sea of newbies. By isolating him it sort of forces me to develop his character. Whether it will lead to a stronger character or not is to be determined.
2. Who is the most danger coming into episode 3?
Kevin for sure, since he is on his own. Also, Jeremy and Reina since they are now out in the woods with a newborn. Can they all survive and make it to Revco? Only time will tell!
3. Is is safe to say that Ofelia is the main villain of this season, along with Luca? Could we see someone join the “dark side?”
"Villain" is a strong word lol. Last season it became pretty obvious that Trent was the villain and there was no real way of redeeming him. This season I think it’s a bit early to say if Ofelia and Luca are villains. Do they have strong personalities and hidden agendas? Yes, 100%. But does that make them villains…only time will tell! As far and anyone else joining the “dark side,” you’ll have to wait and read! I can say that this season is completely different from last season. With season one all these characters were in their groups so it was easier to spot the heroes and the villains. However, this season we’re seeing everyone thrown together and it will be tougher to say X is 100% the villain and X is 100% the hero.
4. If you could bring a character back, who would it be and why?
That’s tough, but probably Kalista just because I think seeing her interact with someone like Jessica would have been interesting. Even with Ofelia, I think that would have been entertaining to watch.
5. How many seasons will there be?
I can confirm that there will be at least a season three! This is mostly because I already know how season 2 will end and where season 3 will pick up.
6. Do you think Chandler could potentially become a big threat?
I think Chandler has shown that she has the potential of becoming a bigger threat, but will she reconsider her ways now that Eden is back from the “dead?” That will be a storyline to look for this season.
7. If Ofelia as powerful as she makes herself out to be?
Yes and no. Ofelia is currently in this First Lady position of Revco and with that comes certain influence. However, she doesn’t hold any real power. But, even though she doesn’t have “power,” her influence allows her to get away with things. That interaction with Zelma kind of showed Ofelia’s limits.
8. Does Ofelia share similarities with Chandler?
As Ofelia was telling Chandler, they both do have similarities. Both are women who have the ability to take care of themselves. However, they gravitate towards others because they enjoy the rush of being a leader of sorts. Yet, with that comes that line that Chandler crossed last season. That line being this god like mentality that’s like, “I know what best and this is what’s going to happen. Period.” That kind of thinking isn’t smart in this current world.
9. Out of all the characters in ATL, which do you think you’re most like and why?
Probably Eden just because she took a bit to discover her own strength. She’s compassionate of others and loyal to those who are loyal to her. However, she is now not the one to be messed with.
10. Besides Revco, where would you want to be located in the story as of right now?
Probably back at Mila’s mansion. I mean other than some zombies, that set up wasn’t so bad.
11. What is your plan for Maverick and Vincent after their introduction?
You’ll have to wait and read!
12. When will the rest of the season two newbies be introduced?
They will be introduced sometime in the first half of the season!
13. What was your favorite moment of episode 2?
There were a few, but there was one scene that I loved writing and left a pretty big easter egg in and NO ONE mentioned it in the surveys! Lol! So either it wasn’t that big of a deal for them or it was hidden too well.
14. Why wasn’t [X] in this episode?
Because this season’s cast is so large I have to pick and choose who is featured. The main 12 will be in every episode - for the most part. The recurring cast and guest stars will only be used as needed. Last season the cast was smaller and in groups so I was able to feature the main and recurring cast in all the episodes. This season, however, the cast is larger and I don’t want key moments or character development to get lost in the sea of names.
