There are others like me who wear hearing aids and we hear very well with them but we need to read lips because we cannot hear every sound especially consonants. I can hear your voice but I gotta read lips to understand what you are saying. I take the hearing aids off and I hear nothing. Thats why you can have hot sex moaning so loud and I would be sleeping peacefully. :P
Then there are those who can hear on the phone and talk on the phone but they wear hearing aids.

You should watch "Switched At Birth" which explains about the deaf and hearing world. I am like Daphne but I am more deaf than she is and I am not like Emmett because I don't sign much and I talk a lot.
