Zombie Apocalypse: 1 year outlook

Dec 16, 2016 by blatastic1234
So I was tasked with coming up with a 1 year outlook of the world if a Zombie Apocalypse happened. I checked into governments approaches to pandemics, city landscapes, models, etc. So let me know whatcha think of this :P

Instead of starting from like Patient zero and working way up I just skipped to when the Zombie Virus would be classified as a Pandemic.

Day 1:
- Lights around the world begin to go out, those powered by Wind turbines and Hydro remain on however.
- As the infection spreads the government makes Saze Zones, they allow any public who clears medical exams to enter. Providing shelter, food, and water.
- We see mass amount of people fleeing infected countries, entering neighboring countries for safety but further spreading the virus.
- Airports in infected countries would shut down. Shipyards would remain active for a few days after, but soon would also shutdown.
- Riots and looting would break out worldwide as people scramble to gather supplies they believe they need.
- Law enforcement is stretched thin and overworked, allowing for crime rates around the world to escalate.
- Hospitals would become overfilled.
- In certain countries, Martial Law would be enforced.
- Stores, countries, and any other places where goods are sold would inflate their prices. We would see inflation rates at a all time high.
- Paranoia of war would break out in some countries, causing murders to break out.

Day 2:
- Unnderground tunnels/Subway tunnels would flood, some streets would become rivers.
- Soldiers are pulled back into their home countries in order to help wit the chaos that is breaking out in said country.
- C.D.C, W.H.O, and other health organizations around the world would work together in hopes of finding a answer to the virus.
- Curfews would be inforced worldwide.
- Fights for supplies continue to break out.
- Cats and dogs roam free, those trapped in houses are doomed.
- Nuclear powerplants go to safe mode.

Day 7:
- Billions of cows, pigs, and chickens would die.
- Safe Zones close their doors to the public as the threat of infection grows. They begin to shoot and defend the Safe Zone against anyone or anything that tried to enter.
- Fruits and other perishables begin to go bad. Grocery stores and some houses become disease riddled, filled with rats and bugs attracted to the smells.
- Gas is the only utility remaining, but the leaks causes houses and buildings to explode. Causing fires and killing thousands.
- Countries close their boarders to the refugees, those in infected countries are abandoned as soldiers, Red Cross, and other aids leave. Trapped within their country. Many of the people in smaller more populated countries will die from the zombies, with no where to flee to.
- Airports around the world shut down, some shipyards stay active.
- Those in Safe Zones are regularly screened for infection.
- Larger cities are abandoned as the zombie numbers grow, forests and other isolated areas are still safe however.
- C.D.C and other health organizations become heavily guarded.
- Those not in safe zones are widely left to fend for themselves.

Day 15:
- Safe Zones become lethal, shooting anyone or anything in sight of the safe zone.
- Mostly every corner of the globe is infected. Places such as Greenland, Eritrea, North Korea, and Nauru have some chance at staying infection free.
- Coasts and Islands become overcrowded battlegrounds as people desperately try to avoid the zombies.
- Those in isolated mountain areas such as the Rocky Mountains have yet to come in contact with the infected.

1 Month:
- Whatever Safe Zones are left have run out of the food and water. The people trapped inside will either die from dehydration or else face the zombie infested cities. Many of people within these Safe Zones will die off, either shot by soldiers fighting their way out, to weak to escape, or eaten by zombies who will be drawn to the Safe Zones.
- Government orders bombings on major cities to clear out zombies.
- Cereal and other non-canned goods become scarce as rodents and bugs infest the food.
- Fights break out in Pam Springs, Hoover Dam, and Las Vegas as these places will still have electricity and running water.
- Gas tanks and plants around the world begin to explode, killing many.
- Forests, fields, and other remote locations that were once safe from zombies have now begin to see more zombie activity and are no longer safe.
- The Rocky Mountains see their first zombie.
- Places with large amounts of bodies become diseases infected. Those in cities or areas with heavy casualties experience health problems, many of whom will die.
- New York, Rome, and other cities will burn to the ground.

2 months:
- Nuclear Power plants across the world begin to overheat and meltdown. People in Eastern United States, Western Europe, Coastal India, and all of Japan will suffer from sickness. 86% of the survivors in these regions will die from Cancer or Radiation.
- Japan is left empty of anything living.
- Rats and cockroaches suffer massive drops in population.
- India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, and most of the island countries around the world are overrun by infected. Survivors here will need to flee in order to stay alive.
- People in Africa face dehydration, disease, and war. Many of the survivors here would need to move to coastal areas to stay alive.

1 Year:
- 60% of the species of dogs and cats will have gone extinct.
- Lice is now endangered.
- Animals begin to roam back into cities.
- In areas where winter is harsh such as Canada, Russia, and other northern countries will see massive flooding, houses and buildings in these countries will grow toxic mold and some will crumble.
- Nature begins to reclaim the cities, roads crack and buildings crumble.
- The Hoover Dam will finally stop running and Las Vegas's lights will finally go out, Las Vegas will be the last place on Earth to have working lights.
- Massive floods will plague coastal cities, people in these areas will be forced to move inland.
- Many of the population has been killed off by the Flu Virus, due to weak immune systems from overuse of medical drugs and flu shots which are no longer available.
- With no protection, hurricanes, droughts, fires, and floods will kill many of the survivors left.
- By now the zombie population will stop growing and begin to dwindle.
