Galus lays in the woods. It was only a few hours ago that he bandaged his wounds and already they are in need of changing. He pulls out the first aid kit, seeing already he needs another. The guaze and tape are low and the antibacterial cream is already gone after he splurged on it doing the first round of bandages.
Suddenly he hears something, something moving....Someone. He presses himself in the small cavern he found, the cavern only being a couple feet deep but just enough to wedge his body in to make it harder to be seen. He knows he is not in the shape to fight and would likely loose but grabs his weapon anyways, readying himself.
He hears the person getting closer. The leaves crackling under their feet. And that's when he sees her. Penny looks around the corner of the cavern, looking right at Galus. For a moment the two just stare at each other. Wondering whether to run, wondering if they should attack.
“You're hurt,” Penny chokes out.
Galus remembers seeing Penny and Zebadiah in the training centre, they were inseparable. And likely are together even right now.
Penny looks at him thinking for a moment. She knows Galus is the best chance she has at getting rid of Zebadiah. After he attacked and killed their ally she knows she can not trust him any loner. But if she helped Galus and got him to get rid of Zebadiah, then she could easily poison him and be able to win the game.
Penny pulls out a sponsor gift she had gotten earlier. She opens it revealing a first aid kit.
“Wanna make a deal?” Penny smirks.
Cresta sits on a rock as the sun rises up in the sky, quickly moving threw the sky. The rays of sun shinning down on the arena as slowly the plants glowing effects diminish. She sits there, eyes closed, chest puffed out, feeling the warmth of the sun, the light of it. 3 days, it has been 3 days since she slept or had a normal long sunny day. She wanted to enjoy the few minutes of sun that was in the arena. It helped her, she was starting to break down. Not being able to sleep and the stress of these games had her mind starting to crumble, she missed home, she missed sleep. But this few minutes of sun every day was keeping her going. It was like a reminder to keep fighting, that even in the darkest of times there still is a little light. And if she wins she could provide for her family.
Cresta lets out a breath and opens her eyes only to see Juniper standing right in front of her. Cresta gasps as she leaps for her trident but Juniper tackles Cresta before she can reach it. The two roll on the rock, trying to wrestle one another nto a vulnerable postilion, one they would be easy to kill in.
Juniper suddenly gets the upper hand and pins Cresta down, sitting on top of her but suddenly Cresta slams her fist into Juniper's head, knocking her off. Cresta begins to crawl towards her trident but Juniper grabs her legs, yanking her away.
“No!” Cresta hollers as she kicks at Juniper.
Juniper gives another big yank and pulls Cresta to her. Juniper pulls out a knife and goes to stab Cresta but Cresta grabs Juniper's hands, trying to push the knife away. The blade pointed right at Cresta's chest. The two sit there, playing tug of war on the knife, pushing and pulling, trying to overpower the other. Cresta suddenly manages to kick Juniper's leg, the two girls fall onto the ground, the knife landing between them.
Cresta looks up to see the knife but then sees Juniper grab it. Cresta quickly leaps up, rushing towards her trident. She knows that is her best chance. She grabs the handle of it when she suddenly feels pain shoot up her spine. She feels her lungs shake and then how hard it is to breath.
Juniper rips the knife out of Cresta's back, grabbing the trident from Cresta and any other supplies she can. Juniper stands on the rock, looking at the sun before walking away.
Cresta lays on the ground, hearing her blood pool on the surface and drip down onto the ground. She lays there, watching as the bright sun begins to set turning the sky into shades of oranges, yellows, and reds. Her wheezing breath becomes lighter as her eyes focus on the sun, watching it, feeling it. Feeling the rays warm her cooling body. Feeling the light of it. She closes her eyes, imagining seeing her family one more time.
BOOM!
Tiberia and Cedric look up, hearing the cannon.
“Another one down I guess,” Cedric mumbles as he walks into the cornucopia.
Tiberia stands outside of the cornucopia, seeing as the sun finally sets, turning the arena back to black. She pulls out a dagger, knowing that it is the final 6. And that it would be smart to get rid of Cedric now.
Zebadiah sits in the brush just outside the cornucopia, watching as Tiberia stands outside. He looks at all the supplies, the food, water, weapons. He needs it. He gets ready, knowing that tonight he must take it.
