This is a special birthday for sure, and I know it’s definitely not how you wanted to celebrate it. If I can get through COVID, so can you!
Jonah, I have known you for about 5 years now and everyone of them have been special in their own way. Our journey has definitely not been easy, but we still manage to stick together in the end. Especially this past year. 2021 has probably been the toughest year for me in a while. My dad got sick, my family got COVID in May, my job has mentally exhausted me in many ways. All that shit has been rough, but the one thing that I can count on, is that you have been there for me every step of the way. People always seem to try and knock us down *looks* but we always stand tall.
Our friendship is not perfect, and has been tested in many ways the past couple of years, but we have never let it get us down. I don’t agree with everything you do, and you can test my patience quite a bit, but I am still always here for you. Never forget that.
We talk to each other every single day, all day if we are not at work, and we still try to video chat every night. I like being able to vent to you and I like listening to you vent. I love our bond over music, TV and movies. I finally convinced you to watch Friends with me and to eat your words on how stupid you think it is. I especially like talking shit with you and spilling any tea or drama that roams about.
I hope your birthday is everything you want it to be, even though you are stuck in quarantine. Here’s to year 25!
