DAMN IT. Y’all make this game so difficult to judge I really can’t with yall. I’m so impressed I hate that any of you have to leave this round, I truly do.
This week, everybody will be getting critiques, but I couldn’t possibly put 3 of you into low critiques… so this week we have a winner, 3 HIGHS, and the two that will be lip syncing.
Please believe me when I say I don’t think any of you technically deserve to be lip syncing, but I did not plan for season 1 to have any double saves, and we are on a tight format here.
With that, we go to critiques!
Newnightmare7 “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden
What a wonderful way to begin this challenge. I fucking love this song, one of the first songs out there I’d recognize as Alternative Rock, such a catchy chorus and every verse hits hard. Not to mention the weirdness of the video, just a total classic
FromAWindow “Marceline” by Vista Kicks
I enjoyed this song, unfortunately this song is competing with a couple of songs that I love dearly and already have saved on all streaming platforms:( in the scope of things it fell through the cracks for me
I enjoyed it and any other week woulda expected this song to be safe.
Joee323 “Maps” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Perfection. One of my all time favorite songs, I grew up playing this on Rock Band 2 with my friends as a teen. The vocals and the drums hit HARD. When Karen O’s voice cracks in the song just literal goosebumps, so much emotion and all the instruments couple the song perfectly. So happy to see this song submitted
nenalalala “Electric Feel” by MGMT
Yasss MGMT!!! This is textbook Alternative, I feel like MGMT as a whole has been instrumental in the development of the Alternative genre over the years. Wonderful submission this week, you can’t ever go wrong with MGMT tbh. This song has been remixed so many times with top artists, it’s impact is big.
Maxi1234 “Revolver” by Bülow
This is the one song in the top 4 that I had not heard prior. Thank you for showing me an artist I wasn’t familiar with, that’s why I wanted to have this as a challenge this game! Love the pacing of the song and the vocals it’s all around a very catchy song and I was living for it. Thank you great work :)
Smuguy2012 “I Will Follow you into the Darkness” by Death Cab for Cutie
I enjoyed this song, I think compared to the other submissions this is the least “Alternative” song of the bunch, and at top 6 this is like the only thing I can pick on when all 6 songs are so fantastic. I’m just cherry picking here because of all the strong songs this week, but for those reasons it’s near the bottom of the pack for me this week.

I’m sorry, I’ve been impressed with you both, of the bunch this week these were my two least fave songs submitted. With that being said, I still throughly enjoyed the songs, this was probably the strongest week as a whole in this game.
Please submit a song to me privately in mails for your lip sync. Just has to be an Alternative song, the stronger submission keeps you in the game, the song I like less will make you the 7th person to leave the game
