I had a blast listening to everybody’s episode 1 submissions, I’ve heard quite a few songs that I know I will be coming back to. With that being said, I’ve made some decisions.
This means the remaining 6 of you are the Tops and Bottoms this week. In order of submission, we will be going to critiques.
nateclove - “Breakfast” by NCT 127.
I do not listen to much KPOP and have found myself wanting to be more open minded to this genre of music. Unfortunately this song just didn’t do it for me, I wanted to like it so bad but it just wasn’t a song I could rly get into.
Joee323 - “Sea, Swallow Me” by Cocteau Twins and Harold Budd
I was really invested at the start of the song, the music felt like something I could totally fall into and vibe with. It’s the vocals that kinda put me off after awhile. I am one to enjoy this type of music but this particular submission was forgettable after awhile.
FromAWindow - “Have Mercy” by Chlöe
You were very confident with this submission and I was uncertain if it would be something I would enjoy, and WOW. I find myself still getting this song stuck in my head and I’m throughly glad you posted it! This isn’t a style of music I am generally into, but I was very impressed with this.
nenalalala - “Don’t be Shy” by Tietso & Karol G
Another song that I found myself being drawn back to, this song was very very catchy, wonderful submission and work this week!!! I’m not usually a huge fan of Tietso but this song has me rethinking!
Maxi1234 - “Let you Love Me” by Rita Ora
I am not super familiar with Rita Ora’s music, but I do love the queen! To be honest with you, I was sort of expecting something different from her music wise, this song was not really pulling me in as much as I wanted it to, I was almost waiting for something to hook me and by the end of the song I still wasn’t hooked.
FairyBoss - “Novocaine” by The Unlikely Candidates
This is probably the submission that I find most related to my general music taste. With that being said, I am keeping an open mind and avoiding being biased, and still find myself really drawn to this song! There was another song that was sort of this genre that ended up being safe this week, while this was a song that I wanted to keep coming back to!
With critiques out of the way, let’s move to the winner!
This week I was very tempted to have 3 WINNERS, that’s how good the top 3 were this week IMO. However, in the grand scheme of things I’m realizing that one song in particular has been stuck in my head from the moment I heard it, and I think that warrants the win here.

You were the first two to submit this week, which tells me you both had tons of confidence and I wanted to like your submissions so much more, but the other songs submitted just drew me back more.
With that being said, I need you both to mail me a second submission for this challenge, a current fave song that you can’t get out of your head. The song I like more keeps you in, while the song I like less results in elimination #1.
