This Sing For Your Life was especially hard for us to watch. iiGalaxyii and mradamman12 there is no question you have both been dominating this whole season, but unfortunately you both drew the short end of the stick last theme together. Both of you were asked to submit a song of personal choice for one last chance to stay in the game. We really did enjoy both of your submissions, and only a quarter of a point separated you guys. mradamman12 - XS (Rina Sawayama)
M: LOL absolutely woke lyrics. #FUCKCAPITALISM. Also, the music video was quite the performance. This was a fun lil bop that managed to be a decent pop song while actually having some meaning, love that! She has a nice voice, but didn’t show it off a ton in this song. The production was kinda meh and I feel like it had the potential to be more than what it was. However, it is pretty catchy and the little whispers in the chorus are cool. Not a bad pick, I liked the meaning behind it but the production was a little lacking for me.
K: I’m always super weary listening to pop artists I don’t know (idk is she popular I’m not with the times) but I randomly really loved this LMAO. I love how on the first listen you think it’s a materialistic song but she’s a queen basically saying eat the rich <3. Her voice and the instrumentals gave off SUPERR Britney Spears vibes. The production of the video is kind of top tier and I love how the song just emits early 2000’s pop vibes. Definitely something I’d add to a playlist, the chorus gave me a lot of serotonin. A good choice!!
iiGalaxyii - in my head (Ariana Grande)
M: You were so close to hitting perfection here. There is a song off this album I absolutely love, but this is not it. That being said, this still is pretty good. It has a really smooth beat and it’s catchy. She also sounds nice in this song, although she usually does so that’s not too surprising. Lyrically it’s fine but it’s just another Ariana song about a boy so like eh. I think it’s pretty basic for Ariana, it gets a little lost in the shuffle for me. But it’s still a good song.
K: Fun fact I posted the ‘boy I invented you’ verse on my Instagram story and one of my ex’s immediately unfollowed me like a year ago LMAO. Ooo so I really love this album it’s up there with some of her best. I really like how chill this song is and I definitely overplayed the fuck out of it when it came out but haven’t heard it in a while. It’s not really my favorite off of the album/of hers in general other than the verse I mentioned. This is so hard because I’m a big slut for Ari but I’m conflicted about this song. I like the lyrics of the song itself but the notes/melody(??) are not my fave. NOT a bad choice because duh Ari stans rise.
