While most of u were out partying and ruining ur livers I psychoanalyzed Lordes Melodrama youâre welcome
Green Light - âGreen Lightâ refers to Lorde waiting for the time where she can finally say sheâs over her ex boyfriend sheâs singing about in this song. Right now sheâs super bitter and pissed off and jealous he has a new girl and sheâs just waiting and wanting to finally get over it.
Sober - Sheâs having really fun nights at a party with this new guy. Sheâs really happy with him but sheâs worried their relationship would suck if they werenât only seeing each other at these parties. Like in real life sheâs worried when theyâre sober itâll suck. But for now theyâre just living it up when they see each other at parties.
Homemade Dynamite - this song is how she feels with her new guy from the parties when sheâs not worried about how theyâll be as a couple outside of them. Sheâs just in the moment with him having a really good time and their relationship creates sparks and dynamite basically cuz itâs really hot and fun mmm.
The Louvre - This song talks about how really nice their relationship is and itâs so nice it should be hung up in the louvre but only in the back cuz itâs special but not thaaat special u know?? Itâs a relationship she wants broadcasted and shown to everyone because sheâs famous but itâs still really new.
Liability - this is such a sad song omg all her past boyfriends say sheâs really clingy and a liability so she starts believing it herself and this whole song is about how insecure she is in relationships and is really sad yeah.
Hard Feelings / Loveless - This is 2 separate songs & my favorite track on the album okay. Hard Feelings is about the break up and how after the break up sheâs really mad cuz the boyfriend is saying âletâs be friends no hard feelingsâ but she no longer feels comfortable with him and DOES have hard feelings. Sheâs obviously not over him and keeps thinking about different things they did together. Itâs similar to Green Light but not as aggressive. Loveless is just her talking about how we r part of a generation of ppl who donât want Love we actually just really like the dramatics that comes with love.
Sober 2 - more about the downfall of the relationship with the new guy from the party. Basically now that theyâre sober / away from all the partying and alcohol and the initial stage of the relationship and the initial spark goes away their relationship fails. It just slowly died off in a sad way that she compares to a MELODRAMA. Their relationship is the melodrama.
Writer In The Dark - sheâs the writer that sheâs referring to and basically sheâs talking about her ex boyfriend probably regretting ever being with her because of how clingy she is but at the end of the day she loves herself and thatâs all that matters ((: so sheâs over him a little more than before.
Supercut - At this point sheâs out of the sad hole she was in after the break up and when she looks back on the relationship she can only remember parts of it (a Supercut) and theyâre all really positive memories but she doesnât ever say she misses him so sheâs just moved on ((:
Liability (Reprise) - not sure what reprise means but itâs kinda a continuation of liability cuz sheâs like contemplating different things like how she was really insecure about herself before. But she doesnât see herself as a liability anymore thatâs why she says âbut youâre not what you thought you wereâ so many times. Itâs cuz she finally doesnât think sheâs a liability ((((((:
Perfect Places - this song is so catchy but I have no idea what sheâs saying I think she found a new guy and is happy and is trying to find the perfect place to be with him whatever that means but she realizes that there are no perfect places sorry donât get that one but itâs rly good.
DONT SKIP THE HOMEMADE DYNAMITE REMIX đđđ IT HAS SZA AND POST MALONE.
