if you saw all the other blogs then you saw this coming. this piece is simple but powerful; you know what to expect when playing with the rook. i also like that it's not even an animate thing, it's literally just a castle pillar. speaking of castling - what a fun function! castling gives you an early game objective. without it, i wouldnt even know what to do for the first few moves! but yeah, the rook is always a late game staple. losing the queen in a chess match won't make me resign, but literally losing either one of THESE babies will have me raising my white flag - dido.
I feel like I've never appreciated them as much as I should, but I am starting to a bit more. Definitely a good end game piece, and I do love castling, it's almost always part of my opening.
