kc’s takesies : *exaggeratedly long sigh* this could’ve been a 45 minute album, but it feels like it was 3 hours, i hate it so much. i won’t lie, this isn’t my fav type of music, so i get it. it isn’t for me, i’m not the targeted audience... but this was BORING half the time. it felt like a whole job sitting through it, and i ain’t getting paid so this was torture. the 1975 should be JAILED for this. there would be some periods of time in this album, where a few decent songs would play in a row and i would think “oh my god ! it’s getting better !” but then immediately after 4 songs in a row would be... terrorism. they’d just be bad. and i would feel... like i’m being put through torture. the thing is.. this would all be good and well, if the album wasn’t just... so painfully long. it was 80 minutes, but it felt twice that because of how DULL so many of the songs were. i just didn’t like this at all, i’m sorry 1975 stans if there are any out there. this wasn’t for me, but go off. stream “Bagsy Not In Net” if that’s what you want to do. go off, do ur little weirdo thing. but woo chile i didn’t like this one bit.
zu's review: despite a worrying start i found this album quite enjoyable! it was long but it didnt drag on fortunately, it was chill. i vibed. but to others i completely understand why others may find it a task to sit through, as the album is 80 minutes long with 22 songs, one of which is a simultaneously inspiring and eyeroll-inducing monologue by greta thunberg. also im a despicable f word so i didnt mind the everpresent queerbaiting, but again that is something others might be irritated by. overall my only personal issues with this piece is, as i said, the rocky start.
