kc’s takesies : #TeamAbigailBreslin#StreamYouSuck. this album was a mix of every type of generic male music. some songs are trying to be an edgy early 00s boyband, some songs are maroon 5 rejects, some songs just sound like harry styles. who, to be fair, debuted as a solo artist AFTER 5SOS was a thing, so maybe 5SOS revolutionized the brand, who knows. it’s not that it’s bad. i thought a lot of songs were.... fine. and not many songs did i actively dislike, but this is not a band i would ever listen to by choice ever again. they’re just so boring and generic. if you’re into this stuff, go off, i respect it. but i was bored a lot of the time. this was just not an interesting album to me, it was just middling. color me unimpressed.
zu's review: this album wasn't awful! i wont say that all of the songs were NOT uninspired pop ballads, but plenty of the songs were quite good! i think they did a great job at making an unapologetic pop album without being overly pedestrian about it. this album certainly is not for everyone, but if i were a 5sAuCe stan, id say this is a worthy addition to their discography.
FINAL ALBUM RATING: ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆
Tune in next week as Kasey and I feast upon the sounds of the LEAKED/EARLY RELEASE Dua Labia album "Future Nostalgia!" Until next Saturday, au revoir!
