I think my personal favourites in this year's #Eurovision right now are (in order):
1. Eden Alene - Set Me Free (Israel)
Love the song, especially the high note part, and I think she'd be the first black winner? #BlackLivesMatter - although I guess we'll see how this latest Israel-Palestine controversy affects her chances
2. M氓neskin - ZITTI E BUONI (Italy)
I don't understand much of what they're saying even though I'm studying Italian right now, but the raw emotion and uniqueness doesn't need to be translated and they give us exactly what we want out of a rock song
3. Blind Channel - Dark Side (Finland)
I was hesitant going in to listen... but I was sold with the explosive start! The lyrics aren't my fave but it's giving me total nostalgia with its Linkin Park vibes (almost wrote LinkedIn) and it's another standout amongst the heaps of pop
4. Destiny - Je Me Casse (Malta)
Upbeat, fun, fierce. We love to see a strong, independent, curvy woman full of attitude. She lists Lizzo as one of her biggest musical idols and I totally get that from her!
5. Albina - Tick-Tock (Croatia)
It might not be the strongest musically but it's really catchy and I can't get it out of my head! I'm a fan of the beat and I like the transition and contrast between the chorus and the verses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8IM3Y5gY9E
Honourable mentions:
Natalia Gordienko - Sugar (Moldova)
I've seen this gif a few times on here but it didn't hit me until I saw the music video that it was from Eurovision! The song is pretty standard but the video is iconic and I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring at the live performance! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zvnsvxA3to
