Whoo, super happy to get 1 karma from a game I did nothing in, thanks players in game 196364 who gave me 10th rather than 11th-13th. 😊 Genuinely wasn't expecting it but am glad.
Looks like charity Rookies aren't really reliable these days so I'll just slowly trek my way to 2000, 1 karma at a time.
I'm going to briefly address someone, who may not see this blog, but it's still something I need to get out.
I presumed I'm filtered by this person, hence I'm writing a blog.
With what was said on that last time we spoke, I have no interest to speak to you again. You crossed a line, a line you crossed before but I've always let it slide.
I have no intention to discuss any of it with you. I rarely close doors on people, but I'm doing it this time.
If you want me to plus a blog or whatever, sure. I plus blogs of awful people if they make good points. Not saying you're awful, but I am saying I lost all my respect for you.
And that's all I'm gonna say. I am not filtering this person unless they do something worth filtering (eg. Posting explicit images).
This has nothing to do with anyone involved in the top blog drama, it just reminded me of my own drama. XD
I've had a lot of life stuff happen this last month and I haven't been thinking about Tengaged.
But two things brought up Tengaged.
1- I saw Catch_a_falling_star on Saturday and he mentioned the Tengaged Song Contest
2- I was catcalled on Friday 🤦🏽♀️
I guess the reason 2 made me think of Tengaged was that I wanted to tell the story but wasn't sure who to tell. And for the first time in a while, I had something I wanted to blog about.
So here's the catcalling story.
I've very rarely experienced catcalling and when it does happen, it's usually towards who I'm with rather than to me.
So Friday was my best friend's Hen Do. And as she's a strict Muslim, it's one of those all-ladies parties where they come in with hijabs and all, then get dressed and reveal dresses etc.
I asked my friend how she wanted me dress and she said,
"Sparkly and show skin."
So I obliged...to an extent, but I had to buy most my outfit. I wore,
- Sparkly pink top
- Glittery silver jacket thing
- Velvet black leggings
My roommate and I went together (as we're all friends) but she had a flight early the next day so she had to leave by 10.
I booked the Uber to get to the venue but I didn't realise she didn't have Uber. Her network had been rough all night so I said I'd book it for her. I go out, I try to book it but no cars are coming.
She insists on taking the bus, so we both walk towards the bus stop while I'm still trying to book an Uber. We're by a bus lane, she sees a pole and asks,
"Is this the bus stop?"
"...No..."
It's at that point I realise I have to walk her all the way to the bus stop. 🤣 We get there, I tell her which bus to take and head back.
Aaaand it's on the walk back the catcalling happens. Just a bunch of whistling. But it was not fun. XD
I'm not pretty in any way or form, so the fact that just because I was wearing sparkly clothes got some random guys' attention is hilarious. Were they human crows?
So...that's my random story. In regards to 11 years here, my Tengaged life has been pretty uneventful. My real life has been insane. I've monumentally changed since last year.
I've been offline for a few weeks but I randomly had this Tengaged idea. I don't know the current situation so it may not work, but here it goes anyway.
What if each month Tengaged voted for someone to have their own charity. A lower level player who would struggle to do their own charity or have tried to but had their attempt(s) spoiled.
This would only work if 2 things are present:
(1) A group of not-spoilers willing to join a charity to help
(2) A fair way to vote for someone
I've thought of a bunch of ways but I could see them going wrong. Things like:
- Nominating people, you can't nominate yourself. Whoever gets the most nominations wins.
Problem: If you're someone who struggles to get friends together to join a game for you, you'd probably struggle to get nominations even if you fit the criteria.
- Select 10 people randomly who post their name and put them in a poll
Problem: It would become a spam contest
Feels like best idea would be a random.org type thing but that could also go wrong.
So yeah, this is just the beginning of an idea. Is it dumb or do you think it could work?
It would be useful to have a publicly supported charity system that could help the Tengaged economy and not ruin Crookies as it would only be monthly.
