Edit: https://tengaged.com/blog/Admin/8663958/transparency
I guess I can just change this blog to be about potatoes....

--------------------
I remember multiple people have suggested Admin posts a regular update with the latest bans and reasons.
Since there are debates about one decision being posted on several blogs, would it not be simpler if Admin posted an "Official Statement" regarding each ban on their blog/group for Admin blogs?
Would prevent conspiracies and guesswork if it was a daily post, with a list like:
UserA is blacklisted for 3 days for violating rule 11b
UserB is banned forever for violating rule 9
By having official statements from the moderation, it can also help with knowing when the user should be unbanned and so users officially know why they were banned so they can debate it if they deemed it was unfair with evidence.

That would be helpful if it could be coordinated and done reliably
This would be nice tbh. I think that Admin should make a group for this. Also the other group should be updated. I think the groups are a great way to stay organized
Admin A ban doesn't only affect that user though. It can affect games they're in, like a Survivor tribe, affect public shops.
Especially if the ban was something which caused an impact on the entire site - such as porn or the user had multies which ruined a Stars poll.
Also, you've made some public. Why make some public if not all? If public outcry means you explain some decisions on random blogs or in PMs to other users, why not apply this to all?
I don't see a Tengaged rule violation (if legitimate) as something private unless it was an illegal rule break.
Like said in the comment above me, unless it's a broken law, it shouldn't be private. People who broke the rules shouldn't be protected LOL. There's no harm in say what the reasoning was. These bans affect more than just the person banned, and knowing why some people are banned might help enforce the rules because then everyone will know that there's ACTUALLY consequences for breaking some of these rules.
Scononduders I do think this site is far to lenient on the rule-breakers, it's pretty unfair on the rest of the players. First there are grace periods for them to stop, now protecting their privacy, shall we make them a drink too? Stop treating them like victims, they broke the rules not the law, what's there to be private about? If you're ashamed of posting *non-permitted* gemma lips without facing the repercussions, then don't do it
Okay dandoe I will conceed that if it’s just a stupid game/shop/design rule then yeah, post why. But if it’s a legal thing you have to keep that private
yoshitomi you know I have personally long said they need to work much like a press agent and do a ban report or at least address the issues being discussed...Staying silent simply makes those conspiracy theorist seem more reliable and true...
Admin you shared on Lemjam6’s blog about a certain user being blacklisted for using a design after he addressed it. Wouldn’t it have been simpler if you just did that but in blog form? I don’t see why we don’t get transparency. If anything these statements will encourage people to follow rules by seeing consequences for what is bannable.
This has been something about 90% of the site has advocated, im failing to see why you won’t make life easier for yourself and others
I’m going to add that unless it is something extremely serious like defamation of character, then I get why Admin might be reluctant. In which case you literally just say this is confidential. If people start guessing that’s on them, you’ve done your part
Catch_a_falling_star If it was a fair ban, you did that to yourself. And if it's a law-breaking case, keep it private.
That's like saying, "I cheated but now everyone is calling me a cheater! So unfair!" If you cheated, you are a cheater. 🤷🏽♀️
If it got to harassment levels, they can be reported for harassment.
Yoshitomi - Nah son, this only serves people who are nosy. If you are in a survivor game with them you most likely know why they're banned and if you don't...what will it do to know exactly why?
This is just a feature for the nosy people and bullies tbh.
I agree with Yoshitomi, if you’re breaking rules that may affect others game play, fairness or safety then people have a right - atleast unofficially - to know. Lack of transparency leads to nosy as often false information being spread away, may as well have it be official
