So why not have a debate with some voices in the community? These people can discuss the current rules, what should be changed/added/removed.
But Admin/Rando make the final decision on the rules.
If this idea doesn't sound terrible...Which group of users would make a diverse group to debate the range of rules but still have the best interests of the website in mind? š¤
i think we need to ask designers who often have items posted in shops, such as iscotty, icing, hannah_banks2250, wonderland, krisstea, gagaluv tell Admin what they believe should be done since it is likely their designs that are going to be stolen
TonyAlBright I don't think I should be in the group. I don't play many games, take part in shops or designing. I have a limited perspective on this site that offers so much.
not to be like racist or whatever but admin/randomize dont give enough of a fuck to read one person's thoughts on a potential rule change, let alone multiple
aaaand in terms of evaluating the current rules and making new ones, it'd be too difficult to actually choose competent/fair people considering the playerbase of the site & the already questionable competence of the administration in terms of how the current rules work
eyoomarcus my comment was regarding the rules about deviants being posted without permission. I assumed thatās what this blog was about but I guess I should have specified
There should be different groups of people per category. Ex I know nothing nor care about designs but the state of games multis hacking and freedom of speech I do care about and would love to argue on those topics. 1/2 posts because it won't let me post past 5 lines on mobile
2/2 maybe if the public wants to be in on it rando/admin can make different blog categories and the public can post and debate their opinion. If someone trolls or gets too rowdy their comments can be deleted and they'll be filtered by admin/rando meaning they can no longer voice their opinion in the discussion.
I feel like someone who knows about designs etc should be in charge of that side of things separately because it's a whole different thing with a lot to take in and if you don't know much about it there will be lots of confusion.
I nominate myself for blogs moderation of some form, I call out people regardless if they are my friends or not, and it's the 1 part of the site I care about.
I agree with Chic, we need a designers committee, they all have the same interests to protect their work.
The Original Designer has to either:
- Have a list of people on their public profile that may use their work (can also say āanyoneā)
- Contact admin and state āthis person may use these specific designs over this period of timeā
The Original Designer is defined as:
- The person historically known to have created a design
OR
- The person with the earliest known posting of the specific design
Any claims that someoneās work has been used without their permission should contact admin with proof of their claim as Original Designer (preferably earliest posting)
Shop owners who have been accused of using designs without the proper rights should:
-Submit proof that permission was given (use wayback machine to save the profile page of a user)
OR
-Submit proof that the person accusing them of using their work is not, in fact, the Original Designer of the work (provide earlier posting of design than one given).
If designs can be removed from the shop by users through reporting (I donāt see a report button on it) then further steps should be provided to document the earliest posting of designs.
Admin (or a designated person under supervision of admin) should have a text/excel document saved with the known earliest postings of various designs, and any direct confirmations by Original Designers on who may use their designs.
As for āillegalā designs (designs with multiple pieces put together) I have no interest.
Though I think there should be some limitations on designs that are essentially a āfullā design.
There are limitations on designs with multiple pieces (lesser degree of customization) so I can understand why we might not want to be too strict with that rule.
i think we should take a pole, do a blog, Ask a question that is legit impacting tg, take the three or so most popular outcomes of how to fix it or make it better, then pole it. Let tg have input on things. admin does not have to do what the pole says but it give them an idea as to what we the users of tg really care about and how we want out site. This is our site after all. With out us there would be no site.
