Most people have rejection issues and distancing yourself is seen as the rudest thing to those people. They'll always see your distance as worse than whatever they have done and said. But don't let that deter you. If you have done nothing wrong and you've explained yourself, that is all you can do. Why keep up the drama? It will only drain you. I distanced myself from several drama queens this year and I feel so much happier. Occasionally I feel guilt when they contact and claim they have been blindsided, but what can I do? One should never sacrifice one's own self and happiness to deal with the unjustified behaviour of others. :)
