For those who work in service industry jobs

Jobs relating to the public. Do you guys get customers that tell their whole life story to you? I am often talking about divorces, marriage problems, problematic family issues, etc.

I swear in both jobs I worked ( As a Waiter and a Bank Teller), I think people just want to tell me every single little detail about their lives.

Which in hindsight,  I do enjoy getting to know people. However, I do not think it's an appropiate work conversation to have with a complete stranger.

Yeah, I do too. I am an empath, so my emotions are heavily dictated by those around me. I have to be very careful what I surround myself with as it can put me in a very negative mindset. I do want people to feel appreciated and cared for though. I think it's important for us as humans to kind and respectful to both friends and strangers. nmh95 What kind of job are you currently pursuing?
