Yes, but is hunting necessary for survival though in the U.S.? Animals have went extinct because of overhunting and greediness of humans. Have you heard of the passenger pigeon? There used to be millions of them and they went extinct because of humans. It's sad. :/ memphis_grizzlies
Unfortunately hunting can't be banned. Many species have adapted to hunting since it is a limiting factor to them. If there was no hunting species like white tailed deer would overpopulate ruining their ecosystems.
